Presencia de riesgo psicosocial en los trabajadores que laboran en las áreas de construcción, mejoramiento, rehabilitación y tecnificación del sistema de riego y vialidad productiva del Gobierno Provincial del Azuay
(2017) Ortega Maldonado, Alvaro Xavier; Rodas Tobar, Mónica Isabel
The Provincial Government of Azuay, with the purpose of improving camping staff’s labor and health conditions, starts a research whose main objective is to evaluate the psychosocial risks to which the laborers, working in the construction of irrigation and road maintenance, located in the rural areas of the different cantonal centers, are exposed to. In order to establish the prevalence of the psychosocial risk and its affection in health, the Istas Method 21 was applied. This is a tool, which is used to evaluate and prevent psychosocial risk factors, being those characteristics of working conditions and, specifically, the organization of work for which scientific evidence exists, affecting health. Indeed, ninety workers were surveyed in this research. The results show that the psychosocial dimension with the most unfavorable exposure to health is the Work Compensation because of job insecurity and uncertain working conditions. This is followed by the family dimension with an intermediate situation of exposure as the worker cannot return to his place of residence during the workday. Moreover, the minimum distance to a camp is 30 km and the maximum is 244 km. In spite of this, there are favorable conditions for stress and burn out. Thus, it is recommended to evaluate the psychosocial risks once all preventive measures have been implemented.
