    Las mujeres, nuevas protagonistas de las bandas de pueblo: los casos de Baños y Sayausì (Azuay). Una mirada desde la antropología de género

    The purpose of this work is to let know the situation faced by women in accessing into the field of popular music in the spaces such as the village bands, focusing on the problem of cultural differences in gender relations, characterizing the level that they occupy in the social hierarchies of these artis-tic groupings. It will start with the descriptive research from the experience of three women, professional and semi-professional interpreters in the village bands, belonging to Baños and Sayausì (Azuay) parishes. In addition we will be able to know the impressions of the colleague musicians from these groupings. In fact, it is evident that the socio cultural symbolisms delimit the partici-pation of female artist.
