For years, people with disabilities have been considered unable to contribute to the workforce, both in the public and private sectors. This situation has led to a high level of exclusion and a lack of decent employment opportunities, as they were denied access to the education and training necessary to develop work-related skills. Consequently, these limitations and lack of opportunities create poor working conditions for employees with disabilities; furthermore, there is a lack of specific data or verified research about the working conditions of people with disabilities at the local and national levels in general. In this context, the purpose of this study is to analyze the experiences of working conditions for employees with disabilities at the Municipal Public Cleaning Company of Cuenca during the year 2023, by describing their employment situation. To achieve the analysis of the experiences of employees with disabilities, the methodology applied in the research was qualitative with a phenomenological design and an explanatory scope; a semi-structured interview technique was used through a specific question guide that allowed us to directly understand their perception of the working conditions in which they operate on a daily basis. The research results reveal that the majority of the participants were male, with an average age of 48 years, and the most common disability was physical. The educational levels varied, but all had work experience, some up to 25 years. Regarding job satisfaction, most employees with disabilities rated their professional development positively, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect, support, and workplace inclusion. However, some faced issues such as lack of accommodations and discrimination in the workplace.
