A socio-demographic card, the family functioning perception test (FF-SIL) and the NEO Five-Factor Inventory were sent to 161 students for data collection. Results showed that the personality traits were similar among the students with a predominance of neuroticism and openness to experience, and low levels of responsibility; all the variables of family functionality showed an inclination towards the functional pole, also, cohesion and harmony were the outstanding variables; It was found that family functionality has a negative relationship with neuroticism and positive relationships with extraversion, kindness, and responsibility traits.
