La pérdida de identidad del sujeto postmoderno latinoamericano
(2016) León Bravo, Diana Alexandra; Orellana Campoverde, Melissa Milagros; Solano Ortiz, César Augusto
The principal objective of this investigation is the study of the problem presented by the loss of identity in the postmodern Latin-American person, from the point of view of the influence of the postmodernity in the daily thinking process. Capitalism and globalization in this study are considered conditioning elements of postmodernity, which influence in the vision of the world and its main reality affecting the conception of personal identity, especially through tools such as the Internet, social networks, television, mass media, and education among others. All of them produce a sense of emptiness in the person, inducing himself/herself to draw narcissist and hedonist characteristics, devaluating the modern ideals of a Latin-American identity. This necessity questions the possibility to apply a deconstruction and reconstruction process to shape the Latin-American identity in response to the present conditions of the society.
