Studies conducted worldwide indicate causes and situations that trigger it (eating habits, stress, smoking and family history). Overall objective: Determine the knowledge and practices about acne in adolescents. Methodology: Descriptive study of knowledge and practices about acne in adolescents, in a sample of 319 individuals randomly selected by conglomerates. The collection instrument was a survey validated by experts and used in a pilot test, once the information was collected, tabulation and analysis were carried out. Results: The mean age of the sample was 16.23 years ± 1.072, with male sex predominately 58% and 65.2% of adolescents studied in a public school. 48.6% of the total sample has adequate knowledge regarding acne, being the relationship between the menstrual cycle and acne the least known topic; 7.8% of adolescents have good practices on acne, the food component was the most difficult to comply with. Conclusions: The level of knowledge about acne is low and is directly related to bad practices, which leads to increased risk of acne and its complications.
