(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-17) Orellana Bravo, Aida Karina; Alvear Alvear, Oscar Patricio
The Humanitarian Hospital - Fundación Pablo Jaramillo Crespo is a private, non-profit institution that, together with companies such as Indurama and Marcimex, belongs to the Consenso business group; and orients its health care benefits, as a priority, to low-income people, for which it provides medical services at affordable prices. This document details how a Business Intelligence system was implemented for the outpatient area of the Pablo Jaramillo Humanitarian Hospital, in order to better manage the productivity indicator; which is currently prepared manually and can only be viewed when the month has ended, requesting a report in spreadsheets to start its tabulation. The productivity indicator is specific to the Humanitarian Hospital and is used to refer to the number of patients treated over a period of time, by specialty and doctor. The purpose of the business intelligence system to be developed will be the daily and automatic update of the information necessary to obtain this indicator and present it graphically, on a specialized data analysis tool. In this way, timely monitoring and control of the care that doctors provide to patients can be given. In the theoretical framework, a description of the basic concepts used in this document was made, as well as an investigation of what is currently documented about the use of business intelligence related to the management of health homes. The implementation carried out is detailed and the results and improvements that it represents in the management of the area are validated, the main benefits being the elimination of the time required to obtain the results of the indicator, the rapid analysis of the indicator and the great variety of information obtained. from a single board.

Un prototipo de business intelligence para consulta externa del Hospital Humanitario
(2022) Orellana Bravo, Aida Karina; Alvear Alvear, Oscar Patricio
This article explains the implementation of a Business Intelligence system to manage the productivity indicator of the outpatient area of the Pablo Jaramillo Humanitarian Hospital, which is part of a corporate group of companies. The productivity indicator refers to the number of patients seen in consultation in a period of time, by specialty and doctor. Currently the indicator is generated manually and only when the month ends and for this a flat report is requested that has to be tabulated in spreadsheets. To solve this problem, a Business Intelligence system was created that daily and automatically updates the information required to feed this indicator and is presented in a specialized tool for BI with information cut off the previous day. The implementation was carried out using its own methodology and the official tools of the group were used. After implementation, the results and benefits they represent for the hospital are validated, both in terms of delivery time and in resources used prior to and after implementation. The main benefits are: the elimination of the time required to obtain the indicator results, the rapid analysis of the indicators and the great variety of information obtained from a single dashboard
