    Análisis del proceso productivo en la fabricación de muebles en la ciudad de Cuenca y propuesta de un plan de optimización del área de producción de la Fábrica Vitae Muebles. Periodo 2015

    This project was developed in the area of Vitae Muebles factory production where it carried on a study based on business philosophy. Lean Manufacturing tools was analyzed as just in time, 5 S, Kaizen, Kanban y Poke Yoke which allow deciding that the best alternative for the production area of the factory is the methodology 5 S. Also, an analysis of the production of furniture Cuenca made a comparison of production levels with companies which have greater experience in the domestic market took place. To describe the process concerning the manufacture of furniture two points were developed. The first one consisted on daily visits which were made over a period of 2 months. The second point was to make a checklist which revealed the difficulties that arise in the different sections of production where they found problems related to the accumulation of material, disorganization, lack of cleanliness, and indiscipline. For these reasons, a proposal was elaborated it was based on using the 5 pillars comprising Seiri (classification), Seiton (organization), Seiso (cleaning), Seiketsu (standardization), and Shitsuke (discipline) which provide benefits to obtain a better image, plant work, lifestyle changes on workers, and increased job security. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations of this study were performed at the end of this thesis.
