    Factores que influyen en el cumplimiento del rol del personal de salud en la promoción y prevención de la salud de los adultos mayores que acuden al Centro de Salud el Tambo y San Gerardo en la Troncal, período 2016

    Objective. - To determine the factors that influence the fulfillment of the role of health personnel in the promotion and prevention of the health of the elderly who attend the Health Center El Tambo and San Gerardo, in the province of Cañar. METHODS AND TECHNIQUES: A descriptive, quantitative, observational study was carried out between March and July 2016, with a universe of 31 professionals working at the El Tambo and San Gerardo Health Center. The technique used was direct observation and the survey. For the ethical aspects, the informed consent of the health personnel was used, the instruments were: questionnaire and observation guide. Results: The health centers of El Tambo and San Gerardo developed predominantly healing activities, with 39.02%, prevention activities, with the identification of individual and family risk being identified 36,36%; The factors that influence the fulfillment of the role are the staff deficit, material endowment; The staff is mostly female with 58.06%, has work experience 38.71%, 74.19% of the staff has a third level degree, and 45% is single civil status. Conclusions: The research shows that the factors that influence the non-fulfillment of the role of the staff in the promotion and prevention of health are the personnel deficit, lack of supplies, materials, non-definition of roles, lack of training Permanent, the model of vocational training received, the lack of extramural care
