Evaluación de los parámetros físicos, químicos e hidrofísicos del suelo en el proyecto “Acuerdos recíprocos por agua” de EMAPAL-EP
(2017) Naranjo Calle, Silvia Katalina; Ramírez Matamoros, Marco Tulio
ARA are born from the need to conserve biodiversity, restore native forest, and benefit the inhabitants of the highlands. To achieve this, communities of the river Tabacay microbasin commit themselves to preserving the paramo. In exchange, EMAPAL-EP provides them with native plants used for reforestation, as well as agricultural and technical assistance and advice. Before providing assistance aiming, soil sampling was performed to analyze parameters stemming from soil requirements that are essential for the use of fertilizers. New soil samples were taken and the variability of parameters was evaluated. Additionally, testigo soils were analyzed. The statistical analysis showed that Ca, N and electrical conductivity have significant differences (p <0.05) compared with previous results; N has increased by 88% in the present analysis compared to the previous one. The pH was found to be low (0-5; acidic) in three samples; Fe, K and organic matter were high; P, Cu, Mn and Mg were in the optimal or medium range and Zn was in a low range (< 4 ppm). Testigo soils were found to have similar values in all parameters although these soils were not previously addressed by technical assistance and/or advice. The results of the testigo soils where therefore attributed to the application of gallinaza. Based on the results of the investigation, it was established that the pH must be regulated, phosphorus, iron and nitrogen must be reduced since their values exceed the optimum ranges.
