The research was performed on patients who have suffered accidents in the corresponding months from May to July 2003. The objective is to evaluate the quality of care given to patients, in direct relation to the available infrastructure and administrative processes executed, and that is determined by the degree of satisfaction perceived by the user. The methodology includes: a) Direct observation of the physical infrastructure and equipment. Rising inventories of equipment, instruments, supplies and drugs are there in each service. B) Analysis of documents in which the implementation of the operational plan and its implementation is based. C) Assessment of the care received in injured patients regarding the timeliness, efficiency, effectiveness and warmth provided by the staff of the respective areas of emergencies. The results were tabulated and analyzed statistically. Comparisons of physical, technological and human resources between hospitals under study and international standards infrastructure was established. We conclude that the two areas of Emergency meet infrastructure requirements and corresponding to a Latin American hospital equipment. The two services provide quality care evidenced in the outstanding preparation of physicians and their professionalism, quality of human resources paramedics and its warmth shown by the entire staff. The degree of satisfaction expressed by the patient is greater in the Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga. The staff defined the same problems that are considered basic but surmountable with respect to administrative processes, which can be seen as dense. Finally it is concluded that the lack of an area of Trauma care for victims of traffic accidents who go to two hospitals is evident
