Background: work stress is a pathology of great interest, because it negatively affects people’s health, it can be associated with depression and anxiety as they are mental disorders that affect the daily performance of the population, causing alterations in mental health. Objective: to determine the prevalence of work stress perceived by the rotating medical inmates of the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso and its association with anxiety and depressive disorder in the period May 2022 - April 2023. Methods: cross-sectional analytical study. We worked with 97 medical inmates at the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. The information was collected through a form that included the Perceived Stress Scale-10 and the Hamilton Anxiety and Depression Scale. Data were analyzed with SPSS version 22. To determine the statistical association between work stress and anxiety and depressive disorder, the OR and chi square were obtained, being statistically significant the values of p< 0.05. Results: females predominated (60.8%), 23 to 25 years (69.1%) and singles (95.9%), most of the University of Cuenca (68%). Moderate stress level predominated (73.2%). Anxiety and depression levels were usually low or moderate. Conclusions: stress levels had no statistically significant relationship with Anxiety and Depression levels. Risk factors were not shown to be related to the Stress level. This may indicate that the origin of stress is multifactorial.
