    Plan de mejora de servicios en centros residenciales para personas adultas mayores, caso: Fundación Santa Ana de la ciudad de Cuenca

    Services in residential Centers for people whose age is 65 to 79 (senior citizens) and over 80 (fourth age) in Ecuador are considered an essential social resource for attention of this population, oriented to offer benefits of quality and warmth during the stay of the residents. Therefore, the decision of developing the present graduation work with the purpose of proposing an Improvement Plan for the Services in Residential Centers: Case Santa Ana Foundation of the City of Cuenca, based on the Operational Guide of the Attention and Management Model of the Residential Centers for Good Living for Senior Citizens and the Technical Standards for Implementation and Gerontological Services of MIES, for this, a comparative study of three private residences in our city was carried out in the areas of reception, lodging, food and beverages, laundry, security, maintenance and recreation, carrying out a diagnosis of the technical and physical resources, in addition to the procedures in those areas, surveys to residents and employees as well as interviews with the directors of the establishments were carried out. Upon the general diagnosis of the state of art of a center, a series of processes and instructions that will contribute to the proper administration of Santa Ana Foundation were introduced. By fulfilling several of these suggestions the quality of life for the elderly will improve.
