    Sobrecarga, ansiedad y depresión en cuidadores primarios de pacientes oncológicos pediátricos del Instituto Sociedad de Lucha contra el Cáncer. Cuenca 2019

    Background: cancer conditions the patient, especially the pediatric patient, who needs permanent support. The primary caregiver assumes responsibilities and tasks that could harm his quality of life, and confront him to a possible psychological symptomatology such as burden, anxiety and depression. General objective: to determine the characteristics of burden, anxiety and depression in primary caregivers of pediatric cancer patients of Society for the Fight Against Cancer Institute (SOLCA) of the city of Cuenca, 2019. Materials and methods: quantitative, descriptive study. Sixty-two surveys were applied to primary caregivers of patients between 0-18 years of age in chemotherapy of at least six months of evolution, attended in SOLCA - Cuenca. The following tests were used: the "Characterization card of the dyad caretaker -person with chronic disease", the Zarit Burden Interview and the Beck Depression and Anxiety Inventories. The data was tabulated in SPSS 23 and Microsoft Excel 2013, and presented in tables. Results: the primary caregiver was represented by women (80.6%), between 18 and 35 years old (51.6%), of the rural area (67.7%), of primary education (51.6%), married (56.5%) and dedicated to home (72.6%). Half of the participants were single caregivers, usually mothers' role (74.2%). 62.9% of the population devoted to care 24 hours, with a total time of care of more than 37 months (67.7%). Intensive burden was found in 38.7% of primary caregivers, 41.9% of moderate anxiety and 71% of minimum level of depression. Conclusions: there was evidence of overload, anxiety and depression in the study population, data that agree with those expressed by other authors
