Motivación académica en estudiantes de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de Cuenca, periodo 2023-2024
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-02-28) Morocho Reinoso, Pedro Javier; Samaniego Chalco, María José
Academic motivation plays a fundamental role in the educational success of students. The general objective of the research was to describe academic motivation in students of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Cuenca. The participants were 103 seventh cycle students. The MAPE-3 inventory was used to evaluate the levels of academic motivation, as well as a sociodemographic form oriented to assess gender, origin and responsibility for care. The methodological process followed a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, with a crosssectional descriptive scope. Measures of central tendency were used for data analysis. In conclusion, the results indicate a medium level of general academic motivation in seventh-cycle students. Also, according to the gender variable, men ranged between low and high levels, while women had levels between very low and high. In addition, it is evident that people from rural areas are at a medium level of motivation, as are those from urban areas. Finally, with respect to caregiving responsibility, the greatest number of students with or without caregiving responsibility are in the medium levels of motivation.
