Mujeres indígenas: voces e imaginarios femeninos en la zona andina ecuatoriana
(2023) Tubay Zambrano, Fanny Monserrate; Morocho, Juan Javier
This research gathers the voices and perspectives of a group of indigenous women in the southern Andean region of Ecuador (Azuay, Cañar and Loja) and shows the social structure and organizational forms in the spaces they occupy in the social fabric. From an intercultural and gender approach, and from imaginaries outlined from the otherness, repetition and reaffirmation of stereotypes, the study analyzes identity aspects of the indigenous female construction in the territory. The methodology used is qualitative with ethnographic tools derived from semi-structured interviews and auto ethnography. The results expose the current state of a feminism scourged by discrimination, inequality, silences and the essentialization to which indigenous women are subjected not only because of their feminine condition, but also because of their ethnic and cultural condition
