Item Análisis relacional de la autoestima y violencia intrafamiliar en la niñez intermedia(2017) Herrera Quinde, Alcides Marcelo; Zhuno Zhunio, Paola Cristina; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaThe present research proposes the relational analysis of the levels of self-esteem and intrafamily violence in the boys and girls of the two Educational Units of the city of Cuenca. The approach used in this research was quantitative with descriptive scope; the study population consisted of 270 boys and girls whose representatives gave their assent, who were used as the first instrument; the Inventory of Child Abuse and Abuse Phrases of Beigbeder Agosta, C., Barilari, Z., Colombo, R (2001) which showed a total sample of 35 (13%) boys and girls who reported confirmed maltreatment and met the inclusion criteria. The Piers-Harris (1969) self-concept scale showed that 74% of the boys and girls participating in the study had low self-esteem, of this percentage 46% were women and 28% men, which linked to age are children 7 and 8 years. At the same time, the results obtained indicate that the correlation between self-esteem and intrafamily violence in the global analysis does not have correlational significance; the correlational coefficient gives us 3.6%. However, in the specific analysis of variables when measuring self-esteem was found significance between this one and age negatively correlated with 44%. The general objective of this study is to describe the dimensions of self-concept present in students from 18 to 22 years of age of the Psychology Career of the University of Cuenca. The specific objectives are: to identify the predominant dimension of self-concept in university students and to determine the predominant dimension of self-concept according to sociodemographic variables in this population; it responds to a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental cross-sectional research design, with a descriptive scope that seeks to explain characteristics of the analyzed phenomenon. 209 university students participated in the study, who responded to the Form AF-5 Self-Concept Scale and a self-developed sociodemographic form. The main results indicate that in the study population, the academic, social, emotional, familiar and physical dimensions of self-concept are located in a low percentage, which demands psychoeducational intervention and training competencies as an indicator of well-being of future professionals. Among the significant data, it is indicated that the family self-concept was the predominant one, while the emotional self- concept was the lowest. Cuenca-Ecuador(2017) Rodríguez Orellana, Carlos Medardo; Velásquez Quito, Danilo Andrés; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaThe present research proposed to consider the levels of resilience that the adolescents of the Unidad Educativa Particular Liceo Americano Católico of the city of Cuenca, have in the city of Cuenca, considering resilience as a fundamental part of mental health. The approach used in the research was quantitative, with descriptive scope, sampling was probabilistic with a sample conformed by 402 adolescents between the ages of 12 and 16 years. The instrument used was the questionnaire JJ63 that measures the degree of the forms of coping that the adolescents use. According to the results obtained it was evidenced that, the majority of the adolescents possess a moderately resilient capacity, on the other hand, the analyzed variables in the level of schooling and the gender, do not influence in the presence of this capacity, finally, the areas that favor the development of resilient capacity were Family Functionality and the level of Creativity. Consequently, to the results before it was delineated that moderately resilient children regardless of individual factors as contextual.Item Desafíos de educadores y tutores educacionales en la enseñanza de niñas y niños con trastorno del espectro autista en la Unidad Educativa CEBCI durante el año lectivo 2023-2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-09-23) Mora Mogrovejo, Carolina Osmara; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaInclusion in educational settings has become an increasing concern. Educators play a critical role in the implementation of inclusive education for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), requiring awareness, flexibility, communication skills, emotional support, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure the academic and social success of these students. The objective of this research is to identify the complex challenges faced by teachers at the CEBCI Educational Unit when working with students in inclusion processes. To achieve this, a qualitative, exploratory methodology was employed, with data collected through structured interviews with teachers and tutors. Qualitative content analysis revealed several barriers to the learning of students with autism, such as a lack of flexibility in educational responses, limitations in teacher and tutor training, inequality of opportunities, insufficient materials and resources for effective education, discrimination, overprotection and permissiveness, as well as challenges with evaluation methods. Additionally, there is a lack of respect for differences and educational systems that do not accommodate the diversity of abilities, interests, and expectations of students with autism. Based on the results, the study proposes promoting respect and acceptance of diversity through the implementation of teacher training courses on the inclusive model, thereby contributing to the creation of educational spaces that eliminate prejudice and discrimination within the educational community.Item Estilos de crianza y violencia en el noviazgo de adolescentes de bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa del Milenio Manuela Garaicoa de Calderón de la Ciudad de Cuenca, periodo 2022 - 2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-02-22) Plaza Quintuña, Pablo Santiago; Guaman Álvarez, Willian Benito; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaParenting styles are a set of strategies that parents implement in their family environment according to the needs of their children, and adolescent dating violence refers to any conduct or action aimed at harming any member of the relationship in some way. This study aimed to describe parenting styles and violence in adolescent dating relationships in high school students of the Millenium Educational Unit Manuela Garaicoa de Calderón in the city of Cuenca, 2022-2023; as specific, it sought to identify the dimensions of parenting styles; and, to determine the sub-dimensions of violence present in dating relationships. The study had a quantitative approach with a non experimental design, cross-sectional and descriptive scope with a non-probabilistic convenience sample of 96 baccalaureate students from the educational institution. In the collection of information, the following instruments were used: Steinberg Raising Styles Scale and CUVINO (Questionnaire on Violence between Couples). The results show a dominant parenting style that is negligent with 55. 21%. Regarding the level of violence in dating relationships, the predominant dimensions of violence are coercion with 69. 79% and violence due to detachment with 68. 75%. There is a need to create psychoeducational programmes for parents and adolescents in order to promote positive parenting and healthy relationships.Item Estrategias de afrontamiento de los adolescentes frente a situaciones de acoso escolar(2019-07-16) Ferán Orellana, Vanessa Johanna; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaIn the research, it was proposed to identify the coping strategies that adolescents used to deal with the specific situation of bullying, participated students of the Armed Forces Educational Unit Military School No. 4 Abdón Calderón of the city of Cuenca. This investigation was quantitative of descriptive scope, of transverse and non-probabilistic type; The applied instrument consists of a sociodemographic sheet and the ACS Scale of Coping for Adolescents in its specific form, this form of the scale consists of a section that mentions my main concern is, which allows the researcher to reveal specific problematic situations that they are part of the daily life of adolescents and to evaluate how they face them, in order to comply with the objectives of this research, situations of bullying were considered. The population consisted of 215 adolescents between 12 and 14 years old. The results indicate that the use of the physical distraction coping strategy is the most used by adolescent participants in situations of bullying. Likewise, the types of coping strategies according to sex are described, observing that male and female adolescents use physical distraction as a dominant strategy. In terms of age, 12-year-olds score high in search of relaxing diversions, while those of 13 and 14 years old are more focused on physical distraction. Finally, it is observed that the coping style aimed at solving the problem is the one adolescents use to a greater extent.Item Estrategias de afrontamiento en adolescentes víctimas de Cyberbullying(2018) Moreno Terreros, Natalia Carolina; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaThe present investigation proposed to determine the Coping Strategies that adolescents have, in two Educational Institutions in the city of Cuenca, considering the category of bullying and Cyberbullying as a fundamental part of mental health in the development of every individual. The approach used in this investigation was quantitative, with descriptive scope, sampling was non-probabilistic at convenience, identifying 32 victims of Cyberbullying, in ages between 13 and 15 years, distributed in 23 female adolescents (71.88%) and 9 adolescent’s men (28.13%). The instruments used were the European Cyberbullying Intervention Project Questionnaire (ECIPQ) and the Adolescent Coping Scales (ACS). According to the results, the research evidenced that the most representative Coping Strategies are the Preoccupation (Pr) and Strive and succeed (it is) for the female adolescents; whereas in male adolescents it is Physical Distraction (Fi) and Search for relaxing diversions (Dr). On the other hand, the modality of Cyberbullying that stands out in the investigation is the spreading of rumors or gossip on the Internet (47%), followed by the intentional exclusion or blocking of a social network or chat (28%). The present investigation concludes, indicating the use of Coping Strategies in front of the same modality of Cyberbullying, changes according to the sociodemographic variable sex. Stress is the manifestation of physical and mental symptoms that negatively affect population in general and, specifically, student representatives, situations that require of major effort. Diverse studies demonstrated that the usage of coping strategies allows us to tackle determined stressful situations. For this reason, the general objective of this investigation, is to describe the levels of academic stress and the coping strategies, according to the academic term of the student representatives in various guilds from the different Faculties in the Central Campus of the University of Cuenca; who face stressful situations in addition to their academic responsibility of being student representatives before the University authorities. The approach utilized in this investigation is of a quantitative nature, of non-experimental design and exploratory-descriptive scope. Work has been done with a population of 32 student representatives from the Central Campus. The instruments utilized are the SISCO SV-21 inventory of academic stress and the ways of coping checklist of Lazarus and Folkman. In the results, levels of academic stress according to their academic term has a moderate range of stress, specially in fifth and seventh academic terms in which the epresentatives are. On the other hand, in the coping strategies according to the objective of determining predominant strategies, the following have been identified: search for social support and the acceptation of responsibility being the ones that represented a significant major level relative to the other ones.Item Estrés en estudiantes universitarios realizando trabajo final de titulación de la Facultad de Psicología en Cuenca(2018) Pulla Guamán, Christian Santiago; Chunzho Pulla, Nelly Alexandra; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaThe present study approaches the academic stress that is generate in the teaching-learning process in the university educational field, where the requirements and demands present in the academic environment, they influence to a greater or lesser extent on the mental and physical health of the student. The objectives were to describe the level of stress in university students of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Cuenca, that realize the Final Work of Degree II, determining the frequency of stressors, the physical, psychological and behavioral reactions, besides the confrontation strategies that student employ. 44 students, 27 women and 17 men with an average age of 25 years, registered in the subject of TFT II belonging to tenth cycle of the curriculum mesh, shaped the population. The study is of a quantitative focus, with a type of non-experimental design and with a reach of study of descriptive. The used instruments for the compilation of the data were the record sociodemographic and the inventory SISCO of academic stress of Barraza (2006). The obtained results based on the proposed objectives demonstrate the presence of a half level of stress in the Faculty Psychology. Regarding the determination of stressors that occur more frequently are: the limited time to do the work and the overload of tasks, with respect to the symptomatology, it was evidenced drowsiness, anxiety and restlessness and finally to the use of coping strategies, the most used are: verbalization and the elaboration of a planItem Habilidades lectoras en estudiantes de cuarto año de Educación General Básica de la Unidad Educativa Pasos de Cuenca, en el periodo 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-10-19) Robles Calderón, Daysi Karina; Rodas Balarezo, Lorena Elizabeth; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaLearning how to read is the result of multiple cognitive processes of various complexity, it develops progressively in the many stages of development in children and it is crucial in the learning and teaching process. Reading performances can be proven during the academic context with standardized instruments. The main objective of this research consists in analyzing the reading process of students from the fourth grade of Primary School of the Educational Institution “Pasos” in Cuenca, on the 2022 period. For this, there was a participation of 48 students, to whom the Reading Processes Evaluation Battery was applied, this being review by PROLEC-R. During the analysis, four main reading threads were considered: letter identification, lexicon, syntactic and semantic; including its respective secondary threads in precision and velocity and the reading skill. The research was made out of quantity type, descriptive, transversal cut, and the data processing was made in the statistic package SPSS V27. It was determined that the majority of students (>50%) presented a normal reading in the main and secondary threads, it was also identified an average skill in the lexicon and syntactic processes; whereas in the letter identification processes the reading skill was below average on the same or different thread. It was concluded that the reading processes in children could have shifts between its main and secondary threads to which the determination of reading skills should require a more holistic vision in its processes.Item Habilidades sociales en estudiantes universitarios en condición de movilidad interna de dos facultades de la Universidad de Cuenca durante el periodo académico septiembre 2019 – febrero 2020(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-05-22) Bermeo Juela, Andrea Patricia; Berrezueta Berrezueta, Eulalia Janneth; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaThe condition of human mobility and social skills are a subject of study relevant to social adaptability or human psychological well-being conditions. This is why the present research seeks to describe the social skills in university students in conditions of internal mobility in two faculties. The methodology employs a quantitative approach of non-experimental design, cross-sectional and with a descriptive scope. The collection of data used a socio-demographic data sheet to determine the variables relevant to the study and the Social Skills Scale (Gismero, 2002) to measure the social skills and predominant factors in students in internal mobility condition. The study involved 411 university students, 30.2% men and 69.8% women with internal mobility in the 17-38 age group ( = 20.5); enrolled in two academic faculties of the University of Cuenca (Medical Sciences and Economic and Administrative Sciences) during the academic period September 2019 to February 2020. Data processing used the SPSS statistical program and Microsoft Excel 2013. Analysis of the results indicates that the majority of students have a low HHSS level, in addition it is evidenced that there is a domain of the factor IV of the scale (EHS) which means to say no and cut interactions and, on the other hand, that women exercise greater social ability to make petitions. In addition, the data show that students between the ages of 21 and 38 score higher expressions of justified negative feelings or disagreements with others. In conclusion, the behavior of the data shows a tendency to low scores in the acquisition of HHSS without relation of the faculties of study.Item Influencia del control psicológico parental en el desarrollo del autoconcepto en adolescentes de tres unidades educativas fiscales en Cuenca en el periodo 2019-2020(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-02-17) Fernández Ortiz, Darwin Sebastián; Samaniego Reinoso, Melissa Margarita; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaPsychological control and self-concept in adolescents have become a research topic of worldwide interest. However, few studies have been carried out in our Ecuadorian contexts. Therefore, the aim of this quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational study is to determine the influence of parental psychological control strategies, identify the perception of adolescents according to their sex, and determine the dimensions of self-concept. For data collection, one hundred and twenty participants from the Misioneros Oblatos, Ciudad de Cuenca and Fray Vicente Solano Schools took the Psychological Control Scale-Youth Self-Report scale and the Self-concept scale Form 5. Results revealed that both fathers´ and the mothers’ psychological control was manifested mainly by manipulation tactics. Mothers use greater psychological control over adolescent girls through manipulation tactics and disrespect. Additionally, self-concept had a higher prevalence in adolescents. There is a negative correlation with the dimension of physical self-concept regarding the fathers´ and mothers’ influence of psychological control tactics. In conclusion, data show that there is no significant influence of psychological control tactics on the dimensions of self-concept in adolescents.Item Inteligencia emocional de los padres de familia de estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales en la Unidad Educativa Ricardo Muñoz Chávez en Cuenca, período 2022-2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-07-17) Betancourth Mora, Alexa Noralma; Cabrera Tapia, Nicole Alejandra; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaEmotional intelligence is defined as a person's ability to recognize, repair, regulate, understand and express emotions (Salovey and Mayer, 1997). The family plays an important role in society; parents, being the first social circle, should present emotional skills that help them cope with daily life, especially when there is a special educational need in their children. The general bjective of the study is to describe the global emotional intelligence of parents' representatives who have children with special educational needs in the Ricardo Muñoz Chávez Educational Unit during the period 2022-2023. This study has a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental research design of cross-sectional type. The sample was nonprobabilistic by convenience, consisting of 38 parents. For data collection, the WLEIS-S emotional intelligence scale and a sociodemographic form were used to analyze the context of this group. The results reflect a tendency to high scores in emotional intelligence; in relation to the sociodemographic variables of the parents, men have higher scores in all dimensions, with higher scores in the age range of 30 to 49 years, and in terms of the special educational needs of their children, parents who have children with temporary special educational needs not related to disability have higher scores.Item Inteligencia emocional y felicidad en estudiantes que se encuentran desarrollando el trabajo final de titulación(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-03-02) Muyulema Calle, Andrea Verónica; Mora Sacta, María Verónica; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaPositive Psychology is a relevant subject of study today, it focuses on empowering and discovering strengths of the human being, in order to stabilize interaction, organization and emotional management skills, relevant aspects in university students about to graduate. The present research follows a quantitative approach of non-experimental design, of cross-sectional and correlational scope. Its general objective is to relate emotional intelligence and happiness in university students enrolled in the ninth and tenth cycle of the School of Psychology at the University of Cuenca. The population was composed of 91 university students between 21 and 35 years old. With respect to the instruments, a socio-demographic card and scales were used: WLEIS-S, adapted to Spanish by Extremera, Rey and Sánchez-Álvarez (2019) which measures emotional intelligence (EI) by means of four dimensions, and the Lima happiness scale Alarcón (2006), which measures levels of happiness by means of four factors. The results showed that there is a significantly positive and proportional linear relationship between the levels and dimensions of EI and happiness factors. It is concluded that students who are about to obtain their degree as psychologists are managed at ideal levels of EI and happiness; however, there are students who score low on both scales, so it is recommended to implement emotional education programs with the aim of psychoeducation in the development, use, control and emotional recognition.Item Nivel de bienestar psicológico en madres y padres usuarios del servicio del Aula de Estimulación Temprana de la Universidad de Cuenca en el período septiembre 2023 - febrero 2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-02-21) Rodríguez González, Verónica Michelle; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaPsychological well-being is a critical component ensuring human mental health, making it imperative to consider this factor in university mothers and fathers. This approach allows for the visibility of the interplay of diverse psychosocial factors influencing the attainment of their life goals. University students grapple with the challenge of fostering greater autonomy, forming new social relationships, maintaining a minimum grade average, managing personal time, ensuring decision-making security, navigating future uncertainties, and, in some cases, relocating and adapting to the new organizational culture inherent in university life. These challenges inevitably impact their psychological well-being. The objective of this study is to delineate the levels of psychological well-being in university mothers and fathers who are users of the Early Stimulation Classroom at the University of Cuenca based on sociodemographic variables. Employing a quantitative approach, this research seeks to determine the level of psychological well-being and identify the predominant dimension of psychological well-being in this population. The study, involving 36 university parents, utilized the Ryff and Keyes Psychological Well-Being Scale (1995), adapted to Spanish by Díaz et al. (2006), to assess psychological well-being, while sociodemographic variables were collected through a self-developed form. The findings reveal that participants in the study, mothers and fathers alike, exhibit a high level of psychological well-being, with apredominance in the dimensions of autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth. Additionally, the study revealed that the number of children is a factor influencing the perception of psychological well-being in this university population.Item Nivel y dimensiones de inteligencia emocional en estudiantes de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de Cuenca(2019-07-22) Matute Campoverde, Daniel Gustavo; Pillajo Abril, Andrea Paulina; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaEmotional intelligence is the ability to perceive, value, express and regulate one's own emotions and those of others, promoting emotional and intellectual growth; The university is an educational environment that focuses on academic and scientific aspects, however, has left aside emotional education, exploration and action given its importance in human development. This research follows a non-experimental cross-sectional design with a descriptive scope with a quantitative approach; whose general objective is to describe the level and dimensions of emotional intelligence that the students of the careers of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Cuenca have; the real population consisted of 213 men and 375 women, whose ages range from 18 to 26 years or more; We used a sociodemographic form and the WLEIS-S Scale that measures the dimensions of intrapersonal, interpersonal, assimilation and emotional regulation. The inclusion criteria were male and female students enrolled in the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Cuenca; and the exclusion was students who voluntarily did not agree to their participation through informed consent. The results showed that students have a high and medium level IE with predominance of the use of emotions dimension and the lowest dimension is the regulation of emotions, evidencing a lack of control over them. It is concluded that the population is within a sustainable level of EI, however, it is recommended the implementation of emotional competence programs, emphasized in the university students who obtained a low level of IE, this will serve as an element of emotional protection before possible risk factors, which allows to improve the emotional skills, fundamental in the professional exercise of the role of the psychologist.Item Niveles de soledad en adolescentes de 16 y 17 años de la unidad educativa Eugenio Espejo en el período marzo-agosto 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-01-19) Barros Rodas, Adriana Paulina; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaScientific research shows that feelings of loneliness are strongly associated with cognitive, emotional and behavioral problems; This is why loneliness is considered a public health problem worldwide, since it seriously affects the population, mainly adolescents under 18 years of age. The objective set out in this study was to describe the levels of loneliness in adolescents aged 16 and 17 from the Eugenio Espejo Educational Unit in the period March-August 2022; It had a quantitative research approach following a non-experimental, cross-sectional design with a descriptive scope. Data collection was carried out with the Ventura León & Caycho (2017) instrument, validated from the original Loneliness scale by De Jong Gierveld (1985) with a study population that comprised a total of 77 adolescents. The findings indicate that adolescents maintain a moderate level of loneliness with a tendency to severe levels, in addition, high levels of loneliness were identified in the participants who presented sociodemographic variables such as the situation of divorce in the parents, belonging to reconstituted families, not maintaining a relationship with a partner, poor or regular quality of relationship with their schoolmates, involvement in artistic activities, not belonging to social groups and lack of conformity with their physical appearanceItem Percepción de la ansiedad en situaciones académicas de estudiantes de primer ciclo de la Facultad de Psicología, período 2023-2024(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-07-09) Quezada Contreras, Jorge Alejandro; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaAnxiety can affect the academic development of university students, considering social factors related to the evolutionary stage and the demands they face in terms of academics. According to the WHO (2017), currently about 264 million people suffer from an anxiety disorder in their lifetime, and constantly deal with the effects of having this mental illness. This research aims to determine the perception that first-cycle students of the Faculty of Psychology have about anxiety in academic situations and their experiences with it, it has a qualitative approach with narrative scope, cross section and hermeneutic-phenomenological method. The data were collected through sociodemographic sheets, focus groups and non- standardized individual semi-structured interviews, which gave rise to the analysis of thedata through grounded theory. The results indicate that the perception of high anxiety indicators among students is perceived mainly in situations of social exposure, also at the time of being evaluated and when having to do group work; this relates to the study category of triggers within the classroom. The general objective of this research is to determine the relationship between personality traits and Burnout Syndrome in students of the ninth cycle of the redesigning curriculum of the medical career at the University of Cuenca. It is a quantitative approach study, with a non-experimental, transversal and descriptive design. The five-factor reduced NEO inventory (NEO-FFI) was used to assess personality in 52 undergraduate medical students of the University of Cuenca, with an average age of 22.4 years. Also, the Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Survey (MBI-SS) was used to determine the presence of SB. The results show that the predominant personality trait among students presenting SB is neuroticism, which places them in a risk category in terms of mental health. Therefore, it is necessary to implement psychoeducational interventions that strengthen formative and reflective competencies, which are key indicators of well-being during the training of future professionals in the health field.
