Análisis y coordinación del sistema de protecciones de la minicentral hidroeléctrica Gualaceo
(2014) Granda Cochancela, Juan Carlos; Mora Alvarez, Marco Vinicio; Durán Noritz, Carlos
The present work aims to outline the approach of using digital electrical protection relays, with calibration and coordination for the Minicentral Hidroeléctrica Gualaceo, integrated to the 1523 feeder from CENTROSUR C.A., considering the inclusion of minicentral as a distributed generation model. The operation of this model is defined in the first instance, based on international standards such as IEEE 1547 TM - 2003: IEEE Standard for Interconnecting Distributed Resources with Electric Power Systems, and on the local regulations such as CONELEC regulation No. 004/01: Quality supply in distribution systems. Also a study of power flows for different load levels is made, thus determining the behavior of the system when the minicentral is in use or not, allowing to observe the impact on the feeder to which it is connected. In addition, a study of shortcircuits is made to assess the impact that has the minicentral for different failure scenarios as well as the system response, setting the areas affected by the integration. Finally, protection, setting and coordination elements are established, in terms of the impact on the distribution system, and the own characteristics of the generator, both for the minicentral as in the coupling point, according to the recommendations of the technical regulations.
