Item Análisis comparativo del proceso de migración interna en las ciudades de Cuenca, Guayaquil y Quito para el año 2014(2017) Ávila Vinueza, Mónica Paola; Castillo Segovia, Katherinne Elizabeth; Monsalve Riquetti, Juan FernandoThe purpose of this investigation is to analyze the internal migrants who live in the most important cities of the Ecuador as Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito; se it have the following three objectives: a) determine the migrant’s profile, b) analyze the migrant's probability of getting a job and c) if there is an income difference between migrants and non-migrants during 2014 period. For this reason there are three econometric models that are made for the author. The purpose of the first econometric model is to know the profile of the migrant; being the probability of migrating to one of the three cities mentioned considered as a dependent variable and as explanatory variables, the model analyze the following variables: area, age, sex, etc.; The second model is used to know the probability that migrants have of get an employment, as a dependent variable it consider if the person is occupied or not and as explanatory variables the model analyze individual characteristics of the people; And the latest estimate is to verify if there is any wage gap between migrants and non-migrants. The Encuesta de Condiciones de Vida 2013-2014 was used for development of Multinomial Logit model, Binomial Logit model and Ordinary Least Square models.Item Análisis económico de la producción de leche del ganado vacuno en la comunidad de Jordán, cantón Sevilla de Oro, 2019 – 2020(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-01-27) Gonzales Ortiz, Jonnathan Ricardo; Monsalve Riquetti, Juan FernandoThe objective of this study is to carry out an economic analysis of the milk production of cattle in the community of Jordan - canton Sevilla de Oro, before and during the COVID19 pandemic; determining the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in this activity and the technological level as a determining factor to counteract this impact. By conducting a census of the 38 milk producers in the area, based on the analysis of economic indicators and using the Levene mean difference test, it was determined that there are two types of milk producers in Jordan: producers with a low technological level and producers with a medium technological level, who have a return of 47.6% and 68.6% respectively. Given this, it was detected that due to the COVID-19 pandemic the price per liter of milk paid to the producer decreased by $ 0.05 and as a consequence the profitability decreased by 7% in all production units. That said, it is concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic caused a negative economic impact on milk production in Jordan and the technological level was not a determining factor in curbing the impact of COVID-19 on milk production in Jordan, as all production units were affected by the health emergency regardless of their level of technology.Item Valoración económica del efecto en la salud provocada por el uso de los productos fitosanitarios en la producción de tomate de mesa bajo invernadero en el cantón Guachapala provincia del Azuay(2016) Bustamante Prieto, Karin Paola; Peralta Tapia, Aida Patricia; Monsalve Riquetti, Juan FernandoThis research seeks to economically valuate the failure to use phytosanitary products in the production of table tomato under greenhouse in the Canton Guachapala Province of Azuay in order to experience an improvement in the health of people living nearby these greenhouses, through the estimation of Availability to Pay (ATP). In order to carry out this valuation, the contingent valuation method (CVM) was used, i.e a hypothetical market was created for the good in question, since this is the more efficient methodology for economically valuing environmental assets that do not have a specific market. This method is justified in the difference of the indirect function of utility of an individual, model ofHanemann (1984). Difference that is obtained when modeling the responses that the consumer has to demand the good in question in a hypothetical market, created for this Objective, with their socio-economic conditions. The results of the survey and further processing of the data determined an availability to pay $ 9.60 per year. The results of the survey determined an economic and social impact of $ 8,438.40. This value represents the change in the welfare that the homes of Guachapala obtain by incorporating this service to their levels of consumption.
