    Influencia de las actividades lúdicas cooperativas en la autoestima del adulto con discapacidad visual

    Visual disability is a sensorial limitation which provokes diminution or loss of visual functions. This leads to difficulties for the individual at the moment of insertion in the labor, academic and social world. Generally, these people feel excluded by the society due to they do not participate equally in the different day-to-day activities. Provoking in this way the decreasing of their self-esteem. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of a program based in cooperating recreational activities about adults’ with visual disability self-esteem in the institution ¨Sociedad de no-videntes del Azuay¨ (SONVA). Therefore, a pre-experimental study was developed in Cuenca city during the year 2021. Thus, the sample was of 10 male and female participants among the age of 27-59 years old. Furthermore, to evaluate the self-esteem of the participants (pre and post) the Rosenberg test was applied. Additionally, this group completed a questionary about their social-economic status, and they participated in an intervention program based in cooperating recreational activities. The time of application of this program was about six weeks. To recapitulate, At the end of the research, there were differences between the pre and posttest of the self-esteem of people with visual impairment, after the application of the cooperative games, since 80% of the participants reached a high self-esteem, while 20% went from having a low to medium self-esteem, thus concluding the effectiveness of the program.
