This first part of the investigation will be destined to the first chapter of the work. The second chapter will be a study of the regulations for the functionality of a museum together with the analysis of the space to be intervened with the new design proposal, based on the analysis of two references that will provide information on spatial and aesthetic functionality of each of the spaces to be intervened, as well as to meet the needs of both the pieces to be exhibited and their visitors, defining the style, function and form that will be generated in the design. Thus, an optimal design proposal for a Textile Museum will be generated, developing a project for an existing textile museum with the needs and poblematics proposed for each of the spaces to be developed. The design proposal will provide each of the specifications necessary for its correct understanding in the development of the project both in 2D and 3D, as well as the final proforma with the total value of the construction of this project

El diseño interior en proyectos sociales
(2020) Mejía Coronel, Diana Paulina; Zhindón Duarte, Jonnathan Andrés
This research has a qualitative approach with an exploratory and application scope, and has tried to solve problems in the interior space of multipurpose classrooms in a public child care center in the city of Cuenca, by designing them with low-cost materials, in order to enhance their use. The methodology used was based on a bibliographic analysis of the main materials to be used, and the most common were selected as the basis for the proposals. We worked with the students of the last cycles of the Interior Design Degree of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Cuenca to gather information. Subsequently the students carried out interviews with users, architectural survey sheets, observation sheets in which they discovered the main problems related to interior design. Using the data collected, teachers and students worked together to propose formal, functional and constructive solutions to the multipurpose spaces. In these proposals, priority was given to the use of common and low-cost materials. The draft project was approved by the users based on their needs and experiences in the use of furniture and space. This phase was motivating to start with the management of materials to private companies, the last step was the socialization of the proposals by the students towards the users. At the end of the project, it was possible to see that interior design can solve problems of comfort and use of spaces that are not suitable for low-cost materials, that the development of the activities to be carried out can be improved and that the spaces can once again be potentially useful within the beneficiary community.

Interior solutions in minimal low-income homes
(Nova Science Publishers, Inc., 2021) Zhindón Duarte, Jonnathan Andrés; Mejía Coronel, Diana Paulina
In Ecuador, governance policies have not been equitable on the issue of adequate housing, especially for those located in rural areas, which had informal tenancy and were built with unsafe materials. The present research assumed a qualitative approach with an exploratory and applicative scope, it sought to solve a problemin the interior spaces of six houses whose owners had limited economic capacities, through interior design with low-cost materials, to improve their quality of life. This research took as a case study the community of Llulluchas-Sayaus'i in Cuenca, Ecuador. The methodology considered spatial, thermal, acoustic, lighting, furniture, materiality and quality of life variables, for which initial interviews and observation files were applied that permitted generation of a diagnosis. During this process, problems were encountered such as the absence of interior dividers, openings without carpentry, masonry without plastering, and dirt or unfinished floors, among others. Next, the preliminary project was developed, with the approval of the users based on their needs and experiences in the use of furniture and space. This phase, in turn, was motivational to start with the negotiation of materials with private companies. Later, it was possible to build: furniture for the social areas and bedrooms of the houses, interior divisions, and window carpentry, mainly. Given the above conditions, it was found that the beneficiary population managed to improve the comfort of their homes to a great extent, in relation to the variables that were considered from the beginning. The thermal and lighting aspects represented the greatest difficulty. At the end of the project, it was demonstrated that interior home solutions can be generated at low cost, which improve comfort and safety for families.

Propuesta de diseño interior de una vivienda rural para un adulto mayor, en Cuenca (Ecuador)
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-10-18) Fárez Ordóñez, Nelly Cecilia; Mejía Coronel, Diana Paulina
This degree work is based on a theoretical analysis in which the particular requirements and demands of older adults are reviewed within the rural housing space, which may present limitations due to its various construction systems and vernacular materials such as bahareque. From this point of view, two housing references were taken as guides, both functional and aesthetic; the same in which studies have already been carried out and the interior design was applied. Likewise, the rural house of Mrs. María Evangelina Domínguez, located in the El Valle parish, was taken as a case study. Once the house was analyzed, several deficiencies could be found, both interior and exterior, where the most important inconveniences are found in the room of the owner, because it is located on the upper floor, which leads the elderly to have difficulty climbing stairs due to their physical conditions. Also, by not having a wet area (bathroom), it becomes a non-functional space. Finally, the problems found in the home, a proposal was made that resolved the main problems of the user in order to obtain functional, accessible, aesthetic and adaptable spaces for the elderly. In addition, a real budget was generated in conjunction with a valued schedule. It is important to highlight the investigation of interior design to adapt living spaces according to the abilities and difficulties of, for example, an older adult.

(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-05-27) Pacheco Campoverde, Doménica Antonieta; Mejía Coronel, Diana Paulina
The Ecomuseum located in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador is aimed at preserving and disseminating the toquilla straw hat, a cultural and ancestral value of this region. It also sells products made by the women who work in the institution, mainly hats. This project presents an alternative for a museum, which we believe will provide a better and more efficient distribution of spaces at an aesthetic and functional level, both in terms of cultural exhibition and the commercialization of its pro - ducts. This topic was chosen firstly because of the minor interest given to this institution, even though it is the only ecomuseum in the city, and also because of the little respect and value given to the toquilla straw hat and its history. The project is divided into three sections: the first chapter presents a conceptual in - vestigation of a museum and an ecomu - seum, its scope and characteristics. We conducted research on the process and history of the toquilla straw hat; regar - ding the property or the building of ecomuseums, we analyzed the distribution of spaces and ergonomics in all of its areas. The second chapter presents a study of the existing regulations in the city of Cuenca regarding real estate. An analysis of other ecomuseums around the world, provided great insights so as to recommend new ideas and possible solutions. In the third chapter there is a proposal that encompasses spatial and furniture design in order solve the problems that had been identified. The proposal is based on a complete analysis of everything that surrounds the toquilla straw hat, we developed a conceptual idea that we intend to pass on to visitors, generating proposals of: chromatic, illumination, materials, shapes and style
