    This research has the general objective to upgrade, improve and propose a methodology for handling management in the recovery of the loan portfolio of credit union "JardinAzuayo" Ltda. In order to achieve greater effectiveness in their recovery. A descriptive and correlational research based on scientific, inductive and analytical methods using techniques such as observation and interview was conducted. In developing the present study, we start from a legal basis which is stipulated in the Basic Law of popular and solidarity economy and the monetary and financial code plus organic cooperative's own policies. Portfolio composition, types of portfolio credit classes, types of products, supplies, credit risk, default rate, loan collection: Subsequently, an analysis of the current status of the loan portfolio was performed. With all these data evaluated we propose a method called Benchmarking based on the comparison of best practices in work processes, besides the application of management indicators, establishing the methodology. As strategies obtained are: constant monitoring of credit granted based on the classification of socio improve preventive, operational, extrajudicial and judicial notifications, to prevent delinquency effective use of phone calls, incentive scheme for prompt payment, personalized tours to reach agreements payment.
