    It aims to determine the influence of chronic pain in the quality of life of patients with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis Hospital IESS, Cuenca, 2004, a descriptive study was applied to the universe of 346 patients diagnosed with Atrosis and Arthritis rheumatoid between 40 and 70 years of age, attending the outpatient department of the Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga in the area of ​​Rheumatology Canton Cuenca, with a random sample intentionally of 173 patients, of which 114 have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis 30 are men and represent a 26.4, 84 are women, representing 73.6.
