The Empresa Municipal de Aseo de Cuenca with the purpose of taking advantage of the organic fraction present in solid waste has launched a recycling plant of organic matter, which produces compost with organic waste from markets and green areas of the city, however, to achieve greater use of them, you want to expand your processing capacity from 25 to 50 tons / day; but before making such an increase, he proposes to carry out a comprehensive evaluation of the initiative that allows for an appropriate decision. This work carries out the financial, economic and social evaluation of the project for the creation of the new composting plant, as well as its risk and sensitivity analysis. The results that are extracted from the study demonstrate the feasibility of the initiative, derived from the saving of resources generated by the company for the operation of the plant and the environmental benefit produced by society due to the lower emission of greenhouse gas, however, The project does not have a distributional effect of income in the population of the canton. On the other hand, the sensitivity analysis shows a project sensitive to changes in operation and maintenance and investment costs that could modify the decision to invest or not in it. Finally, the risk analysis shows a moderately risky project, with a low probability of obtaining a negative NPV and an IRR lower than the profitability demanded by investors.
