    The psychomotor development is a fundamental part of the life of all children under five years of age, which must be carefully evaluated and monitored, as it is subject to the influence of prenatal, perinatal or postnatal factors, which could affect the development harmonic of it. The timely detection becomes vital, because it favors the future of the child and his family. There are several scales that allow to evaluate the psychomotor development; in the present investigation the Battelle Development Inventory will be applied. GENERAL OBJETIVE To determine the risk factors and their incidence in the psychomotor development of children between zero and five years of the Carlos Elizalde Health Center. Cuenca 2017. METHODOLOGY The study was of descriptive quantitative type of cross section in the period October 2017 - March 2018. The population was 125 children from zero months to five years to which they applied the Battelle Development Inventory. The data obtained were tabulated with the SPSS program with prospective data analysis; from this the results were obtained in graphs and tables that gave us the interpretation to fulfill the proposed objectives. RESULTS The results obtained generated a base of information and knowledge about the level of psychomotor development, which can be used for future research for professionals, students and health personnel in general.
