Item Actitudes hacia la masturbación y su relación con la satisfacción sexual en servidores del Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo en el año 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-01-03) Chacón Arévalo, María Verónica; Lucas Matheu, Manuel MateoBackground: Sexual pleasure, including autoerotism, is source of physical, psychological and spiritual wellness, it’s a human sexual right. However, masturbation masturbation has historically been reviled and has been surrounded by mistaken beliefs. Two important factors in increasing or decreasing sexual satisfaction are: attitudes and values toward sexuality; and the wealth of sexual practices, including including non-coital ones Objective: Relate Attitudes toward masturbation and its connection to sexual satisfaction. Methodological design: Quantitative, analytical correlational, cross-sectional, 215 voluntary workers answered a sociodemographic form, the Spanish short version of Negative Attitudes Toward Masturbation Inventory (NATMI) and the Subjective Sexual Satisfaction (ESSS). A convenience sampling was performed among all Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo’s workers on 2022. Data analysis was performed in SPSS. Results: Correlation between Attitudes toward masturbation and sexual satisfaction was negatively and significantly related (rho= -.252, p=.000) Conclusions: Negative attitudes toward masturbation are related to subjective sexual satisfaction in the study group. Findings imply the need to expand the investigation to larger samples, in all the country, considering all the involved sociodemographic factors.Item Estrés laboral y deseo sexual en el personal sanitario femenino de la ciudad de Loja, 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-02-03) Ramón Peralta, Ana Karina; Lucas Matheu, Manuel MateoThe incorporation of women into the work environment is very evident, not only are the housework if not also the stress that is experienced daily at work impacting not only on physical and mental health, but also affects sexuality and therefore sexual desire and relationships. Objective: To determine the relationship between work stress and sexual desire in female health personnel in the city of Loja 2022. Methodological design: Analytical, cross-sectional and relational study. The sample consisted of 278 women from the health sector working in the city of Loja. A form with sociodemographic data, DESEA questionnaire and Burnout Inventory was elaborated. Spearman's Rho was used for correlations among variables and for comparisons, Kruskal Wallis H or Mann Whitney U, with significance of p<0.05. Results: Most of the women were 20-39 years old (76.6%), with an average age of 35±8 years; 52.5% are physicians, 32.7% nurses and 14.7% nursing assistants; 50.4% are practicing believers and 60.4% work in the public sector. 72.3% present some level of hypoactive sexual desire, which is associated stress (Burnout) (p=0.009), age (p=0,019), number of children (p=0.026) and couple relationship (p=0.001). Conclusions: Female health sector workers in Loja present hypoactive sexual desire and it is associated with different factors, such as work stress, age, number of children and couple relationship.Item Frecuencia y caracterización de la disfunción sexual masculina en estudiantes de Medicina de la Universidad de Cuenca. Objective: to describe the frequency and characteristics of male erectile dysfunction of medicine students from the University of Cuenca, 2018. Materials and methods: quantitative, observational, analytical, of a cross-section study in which 608 students participated, 358 of the fulfilled the inclusion criteria, the statistical analysis used IBBM SPSS 15 program and Epidat 3.1. The statistical associations included Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, ant Spearman´s correlation, accepting the hypothesis with a value of p <0.05 Results: the incidence of male erectile dysfunctions was 28,80% (n=103), the altered sexual disorders were 2,3% aversion to sex, 6,4% sexual underactivity, 16,4% hyperactivity, 9,5% orgasm disorders, 8,9% dyspareunia, 26% of the participants have a slight erectile dysfunction, 2,5% slight to moderate and 0,3% moderate, 64% occasional premature ejaculation, 7,8% severe premature ejaculation. The age average in 22,85 years ± 3,13, sex life beginning 17 years of age ± 2,15, number of sex partners 5 ± 4,6, student who are taking the internship 22,6% and second year 20,7%, a statistical correlation of ejaculatory function with age and year of studies, erectile function with residency, ethnicity occupation, religion, and year of studies with a value of p <0.05 Conclusions: The incidence of male´s erectile dysfunction was high and it is statistically associated witch socio-demographic variables and influenced by patriarchal constructs which directly affects male sexualityItem Influencia de la violencia de pareja en la disfunción sexual femenina. Centro de Especialidades Central Cuenca. 2018(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-01-31) Romero Cruz, Brenda Paola; Lucas Matheu, Manuel Mateo; Abril Matute, Cumandá Patricia; Tapia Cárdenas, Jeanneth PatriciaObjective: To determine the influence of domestic violence on female sexual dysfunction, in users of “Centro de Especialidades Central Cuenca”, Social Security Institute of Ecuador, 2018. Materials and methods: Quantitative, analytical, of a cross-section and observational study in which 410 users who fulfilled the inclusion criteria participated. The analysis was carried out on IBM SPSS 23 and Epidat 3.1., and the statistical association with Spearman´s correlation, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis test. Chi-square was applied, showing reason of incidence and confidence intervals to 95%, accepting the hypothesis with a value of p<0.05. Results: The incidence of domestic violence was 93.2% from this to 57.85% of women showed sexual dysfunction RP 1,11 (1,05-1,18) p<0,000. The incidence of female sexual dysfunction was 55.1%; it was statistically associated risk factors with domestic violence RP 3,23 (1,45-7,20) p<0.000, age ≥40 years RP 1.73 (1,44-2,08) p<0.000, level of education (school) RP 1.36 (1,14-1,63) p<0.003, traumatic sexual experience, RP 1.65 (1,42-1,93) p<0.000, dissatisfied marital relationships RP 1,73 (1,48-2,03) p< 0.000, extreme relative poverty socio-economic level, RP 1,29 (1,05-1,57) p<0.026, it was protective factor unstable partner, RP 0,78 (0,63-0,96) p<0.017. Conclusions: Female sexual dysfunction was associated with domestic violence, age, level of education, marital status, socio-economic level, traumatic sexual experience and relationship of partner.
