Huertos urbanos como espacios de incremento de área verde urbana, en los retiros establecidos por la ordenanza municipal del cantón Cuenca
(2018-11-23) Vásquez Vintimilla, Paulo César; Loyola Illescas, Juan Gerardo
In the city of Cuenca, population growth led to accelerated urbanization, resulting in the progressive loss of green spaces and biodiversity of fauna and urban vegetation, to the detriment of the landscape and environmental quality of this town. The loss of green spaces is significant in the city of Cuenca, since according to World Health Organization standards the ideal would be 9.2 square meters per inhabitant, when the city counts as only 1.82 square meters per inhabitant (INEC 2010). In contrast to the Calculation of the INEC, the Department of Green areas of the EMAC quantifies a total of 5.82 square meters per inhabitant, which in spite of, does not meet the required standards. (El Tiempo, November 2016). At the same time, a report made by the Illustrious borough of Cuenca indicates that up to now, 18.6% of frontal withdrawals with unauthorized construction have been lost, leaving a total of 41187 retirement spaces in the urban area as an area of influence for the present draft. (Vásquez Solano, 2017) This is why the present research work offers to retake the spaces of urban retreats by proposing 09 model designs of orchards, according to the needs, tastes and cultural attachment of the owners of the houses, in this way it will be possible to create ecological bio-corridors that increase the index of square meters per dweller, therefore, an improvement in the landscape, environmental and social quality.
