Item Estudio de las competencias parentales en progenitores de estudiantes de Educación General Básica Superior de la Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional San José de la Salle de la ciudad de Cuenca en el período marzo-agosto 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-02-16) Barzallo Crespo, Talia Jacqueline; Lojano Llivicota, Katty Paola; Palacios Madero, María DoloresParental skills are a set of strategies that parents execute in their family environment according to the needs of their sons and daughters; Competencies are categorized as: bonding, protective, reflective and formative. Attachment competence focuses on secure attachment and affection; protective competence seeks security and protection of rights; reflective competence allows parents to think about how they are executing their own parenting and formative competence is linked to learning. The objective of this study is to describe the parental competencies of parents of students of Higher Basic General Education of the San José de La Salle Educational Unit in the city of Cuenca in the period March-August 2022. This research sought to identify the competencies of parents and responds to a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental cross-sectional research design, with a descriptive scope that seeks to explain characteristics of the phenomenon analyzed. The study included 112 parents from the San José de la Salle Fiscomisional Educational Unit of eighth, ninth and tenth grade EGB students to whom the Positive Parenting Scale was applied. The results show that in the study population, bonding and protective parental skills are located in the risk zone, which requires psychoeducational intervention from parents, and training and reflective skills are in the optimal zone, an indicator of well-being. in the development of children.
