    Propuesta de un Plan de Desarrollo Turístico para el Cantón Girón, provincia del Azuay, 2018-2023

    The general objective of this paper is to establish a proposal for a tourism development plan for canton Girón for the period 2018-2023. The elaboration of the plan included the state of the art of the canton, bases on primary and secondary information. In addition, in order to know the tourist system, the supply was analyzed with information from the tourist cadaster and inventory of attractions; the tourist demand was established through surveys through the use of a virtual KoBoToolbox platform in tourist places with a large influx of visitors. Participatory methodologies were used to develop socializations that involved the entire community of Girón. A portfolio of programs, projects and activities was formulated is a profile to respond to the three pillars of sustainability: socioeconomic, cultural and environmental. The main responsibility for the execution of the programs is GAD of Girón, who are committed to monitoring and evaluating them. Finally the proposal was socialized with the presence of the cantonal GAD, tourist service providers and the community of Girón.
