Preconception risk factors, pregnancy, childbirth, pre-pregnancy maternal pathologies are circumstances that in many cases can be modified, allowing the birth of people develop their full potential for the benefit of society. A descriptive study, taking into account the frequency of diagnoses, associated factors, condition at discharge. The information was obtained monthly concentrates, and medical records. The main causes of morbidity including respiratory failure [33 percent], metabolic disorders [19.7 percent]. Hperbilirrubinemia by ABO isoimmunization [2.8 percent]. The diagnosis of prematurity, as secondary diagnosis was the most common [50.7 percent]. The mortality rate found was 27.3 per thousand live births. The percentage of infants who died in the unit is 22.2 percent. The main causes of mortality include respiratory failure [51.1 percent], malformation Gongénita [6.7 percent], Choking [6.7 percent]. We agree that most of the diagnoses found are related to socioeconomic factors and cultural, which have overtones of solution when there are improvements in health care to a large population mass and depend mainly on government policies.
