In pediatric dentistry, dental care for children is provided from the first years of life. In order to achieve rapid clinical care, restorative materials with a short application time and good clinical performance have been introduced. One of these materials is composite resins, being the most chosen by pediatric dentists because of their improved physical and mechanical properties. Mass-filled composite resins are one of the alternatives for restoring deciduous teeth in the posterior area. Objective: to determine the survival of bulk-fill composite material and conventional micro-hybrid composite material in deciduous molar restorations. Methods: This is a secondary longitudinal descriptive narrative review obtained from a compilation of data collected from databases such as PubMed (MEDLINE), Scopus, Web of Science, Wiley, and the Google Scholar meta-search engine; through which access to different repositories and indexed journals were obtained. Sixteen articles that fulfilled the inclusion criteria were selected. Results: The three clinical characteristics (color stability, marginal integrity of the restoration, and changes in its surface) were evaluated in both class I and II restorations in primary molars, showing significant differences between the two types of resins. Conclusion: Bulk-fill resins exhibit a better survival of restorations when compared to conventional micro-hybrid resins.
