Item Prevalencia y factores asociados al consumo de alcohol en los pacientes de entre 18 a 64 años atendidos en el Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, 2017(2018) Lliguizaca Guallpa, Eliana Maritza; Malla Santin, Sandra Gabriela; Morocho Malla, Manuel IsmaelINTRODUCTION: the alcoholism, a public health problem in Ecuador affects all stages of life with emphasis on the youngest population, with many factors predisposing for consumption to become dangerous. OBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence of alcohol consumption and its risk factors in patients aged 18-64 years, Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, 2017. METHODOLOGY: Analytical observational quantitative study, executed in the areas of external consultation and hospitalization of the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso in the period of October - December 2017, with a sample of 88 patients who were previously selected by the inclusion criteria. they offered informed consent, with approval was processed to the collection of information by a questionnaire structured by the authors who has some scales (AUDIT test, Rosemberg scale, family APGAR, Graffar test) the data were processed in the statistical program SPSS 22, with analytical statistics and presenting it in frequency tables. RESULTS: The sample had an average age of 38.5 ± 15 years, the ages between 18 and 30 years (39.8%) predominated, the male gender was the prevalent one (73.9%), most people they have married marital status (52.3%), 65.9% of respondents belong to the province of Azuay, the majority reside in the rural area (55.7%), secondary education is the most frequent (38 , 6%); the "worker" socioeconomic level predominated with 61.4% of the cases, 65.9% have a nuclear family. 40.9% of the interviewed patients have an alcohol dependence, followed by people who have a "risk consumption" with 27.3%; male sex was the factor that was statistically associated with an alcohol consumption at risk. CONCLUSIONS: the prevalence of alcohol consumption at risk is 90.9% in patients aged 18 to 64 years of age served at the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso; the male sex increases the likelihood of suffering this pattern of consumption.
