Item Relación entre condición física y ansiedad precompetitiva en atletas de medio fondo y fondo de la categoría U18 pertenecientes al Club Formativo Luis Chocho de la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-08-23) Litardo Chocho, Johnny Alejandro; Barreto Andrade, Jorge AntonioThis paperwork focused on analyzing relationship between physical condition and pre- competitive anxiety in middle distance athletes (800m and 1,500m) and long distance (3,000 meter flat and 5,000m race walk) athletes belonging to the Luis Chocho Training Club in Cuenca city. The study began with the participation of 19 athletes (8 men and 11 women), aged between 15 and 17 years whose belong to the Luis Chocho Specialized and Training Sports Club. It’s important to mention that 2 female athletes dropped due to personal situations on the course of the investigation, only 17 athletes participated at the end. To meet the specific objectives, the levels of physical condition and pre-competitive anxiety are first established in middle and long-distance athletes of the U18 category. Then the levels of physical condition and pre-competitive anxiety by sex were compared. Cognitive and somatic anxiety, self-confidence, and physical condition by sex were the measured variables. The 1000-meter test and the Martens test 1 (CSAI-2) of pre- competitive anxiety were the two-measurement used. The data was tabulated in Excel 2019 and analyzed in the statistical software SPSS version 21. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test was performed and then the Student’s t-test was chosen to search for differences and the Pearson correlation coefficient to correlate the variables. There is no relationship between the variables statistically verified. It can be concluded that the physical condition has no correlation with anxiety. However, a high level of anxiety is determined in men and women, being higher in women. Men have higher self- confidence than women. Regarding physical condition, both men and women have an excellent physical, being higher in male athletes, although with a little difference.
