    Análisis microbiológico y físico-químico, del agua tratada en la parroquia Sinaí del cantón Morona

    Water is the most valuable natural resource and is a scarce and vulnerable element, so that public and private water supply services must guarantee the biological, chemical and physical safety of water, otherwise it could serve as a vehicle for the spread of diseases. The main objective of the present study was to analyze the microbiological and physical-chemical quality of the treated water of the Sinai parish of the Morona canton, in the reserve tanks of the treatment plants and buildings of the communities belonging to the parish, compare it with the physical, chemical and microbiological requirements contemplated in the reference regulation INEN 1108: 2014 and INEN 1108: 2006. For the physical-chemical and microbiological analysis, 255 samples were analyzed (in duplicate), which were taken from the reserve tanks and buildings of the sectors belonging to the parish of Sinai during 8 weeks in the months of February. - April. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics were applied, for which the SPSS program ("Statistical Product and Service Solutions") and Excel 2013 were used. The results obtained showed that the physical-chemical parameters such as color, turbidity comply with the provisions of the INEN 1108: 2014 standard; the residual chlorine does not comply with this standard. The pH complies with the INEN 1108: 2006 standard. In the microbiological parameters it was established that the total coliforms are outside the limit allowed in the norm INEN 1108: 2006 and the fecal coliforms are outside the limit established by the norm INEN 1108: 2014.
