    Conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas del síndrome premenstrual en estudiantes de enfermería. Cuenca. 2016

    Background: the premenstrual syndrome includes a series of cyclic symptoms that can affect intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships of woman. Objective: describe the knowledge, attitudes and practices of students of the "School of Nursing at the University of Cuenca" on the Premenstrual Syndrome. Material and Methods: it was developed a quantitative, observational, descriptive cross-sectional study with a random sample of 171 female students of the "School of Nursing at the University of Cuenca" A structured questionnaire was applied to knowledge, attitudes, practices, age, marital status, year of race, origin, residence and data were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version 15.0 evaluation. Data analysis for nominal variables was performed using frequencies and percentages; for quantitative variables analysis was performed using central tendency statistics such as mean, median; Dispersion and standard deviation. Results: of the students who participated in the study, knowledge is regular in 50.3%, attitudes are positive in 67.8% and the practices are inadequate in 83.0%. Conclusions: in the sample studied, knowledge is regular, positive attitudes and practices applied are inadequate.
