(2017) Arpi Barrera, Julia Adriana; Yunga Guamán, Marcia Johanna; Larriva, Wilson Giovanny
The thesis consists in the EVALUATION OF THE WATER’S QUALITY IN THE SECTORS CORAZÓN DE MARÍA AND ZHIRINCAY OF THE JUNTA ADMINISTRADORA DE AGUA POTABLE REGIONAL BAYAS DEL CANTÓN AZOGUES. The physical-chemical and microbiological analyzes were performed in the Laboratory of Analysis of the Water Quality of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences. The research has an analytical investigation, no-experimental, descriptive and transversal cut design. One hundred twenty eight samples were evaluated during 8 weeks between November and December of 2016. Concerning physico-chemical parameters such as color, turbidity, pH, conductivity, alkalinity, hardness total, sulfates, free chlorine, nitrites and nitrates. In the microbiological parameters, they determined total coliforms by the MPN method (Most Probable Number). One hundred per cent of the samples had not present coliform bacterias and therefore not necessary perform fecal coliform determination. The analyzed parameters values: color, turbidity, nitrites, nitrates and free chlorine are within the permissible limits given in the current legislation NTE INEN 1108: 2014; by the other hand, pH, sulfates, total hardness comply with the values established in NTE INEN 1108: 2006 and in terms of conductivity and alkalinity comply with the values established by the OMS. These parameters that have been evaluated are indicators of the water sanitary quality. However other studies indicated that there are several factors that can cause gastrointestinal alterations, for example: fruits and vegetables improper washing, bad habits of Hygiene, inadequate sanitation, vector control and unbalanced diets. In conclusion, Bayas population consume optimum quality water, this is reflected in the obtained results.

(2017) Tenesaca Santos, Luis Meliton; García Collaguazo, Manuel Santiago; Larriva, Wilson Giovanny; Cazar Ramírez, María Elena
This work consisted in the analysis of the water quality used by the inhabitants from Leg Abuga and Lower East of Bayas, parish of the Azogues, Cañar Province. This research was descriptive, cross-sectional and non-experimental. Samples of water were collected in homes from the study area, according to a sample plan. Statistical analysis were based on stratified random probabilistic sampling, the evaluated samples were 12 each week during an eight week period corresponding from March to April 2017 (96 samples). The analyzed physicochemical parameters were: colour, turbidity, pH, conductivity, alkalinity, total hardness, sulfates, residual free chlorine, nitrites, nitrates and the microbiological parameters were Probability (NMP) for Total Coliforms, and Fecal Coliforms. No statistically significant variation was found between Leg Abuga and Lower East for all parameters analyzed. The physicochemical parameters were within the limits allowed in the regulations used as standard INEN 1108-2014 (color, turbidity, residual free chlorine, nitrites and nitrates), Norm INEN 1108-2006 (pH, hardness, sulfates), NMX 44 -093-SCFI-200 (conductivity) and (alkalinity) of water and Argentine Improving (AYSA), while for microbiological analysis of the week 7 presented values higher than those ones established by Norm INEN 1108-2006 (<2 NMP / 100 ml of water). It is attributed to a deficiency about maintenance of the filters, continuous rains and ruptures of the pipes. Preventive measures were carried out and the results were obtained similar to the other past weeks at the week 8 (<2 NMP / 100 ml of water). The study contributed to the project with information for the evaluation of water quality. Our results will support appropriate measures by the Water Plant Administration to improve quality service to all consumer from this water plant.

(2017) Inga Ortega, Adriana Alexandra; Vanegas Ortiz, Diana Beatriz; Larriva, Wilson Giovanny
This work consisted in the analysis of the water quality that is used by the users of the houses of the sectors Leg Tabacay and Oriente Alto of the parish Bayas of the Azogues canton. The study was descriptive, cross-sectional, non-experimental. The samples of water were taken in the different domiciles of each of the indicated sectors. The statistical studies were based on stratified probabilistic random sampling, 18 samples were tested with duplication in each week during a period of eight weeks corresponding to the months of November and December of the year 2016. The physicochemical parameters that were analyzed were: color, turbidity, pH, conductivity, alkalinity, total hardness, sulfates, residual free chlorine, nitrites, nitrates and for the microbiological parameters the multi-tube or most probable number (MPN) technique was used for total coliforms and for fecal coliforms. The analysis of the results was performed by analysis of variance and T-tests of two-tailed student using a level of significance of 5%. All the parameters analyzed do not appear in the current standard (INEN Standard 1108-2014), so to assess their compliance with quality, it was necessary to refer to other reference standards (INEN Standard 1108-2006, NMX-2000, AYSA). The results obtained showed that in both the physicochemical and microbiological parameters, they did not present statistically significant differences in any of the two sectors analyzed and that they are within the limits allowed according to the norms used as the norm INEN 1108-2014 (color, turbidity (pH, hardness, sulfates), NMX 44-093-SCFI-200 (conductivity) and AYSA (alkalinity), while in microbiological parameters such as total coliforms Are within the range established by Norm INEN 1108-2006 (<2 NMP / 100 ml of water)

Evaluación de la calidad de agua tratada de los sectores General Vintimilla y Señor de Flores, de la parroquia Bayas del cantón Azogues
(2017) Flores Gomezcoello, Erick Mateo; Machuca Tacuri, Miriam Ximena; Larriva, Wilson Giovanny
The thesis presented with the title of "EVALUATION OF THE QUALITY OF WATER TREATED IN THE GENERAL VINTIMILLA AND SEÑOR DE FLORES SECTORS OF THE BAYAS PARISH IN THE AZOQUES CANTON” was made during the months of October 2016 to January 2017, where physicochemical parameters were determined such as Color, conductivity, turbidity, pH, nitrites, nitrates, sulfates, residual free chlorine, total hardness, alkalinity, as well as microbiological parameters (total coliforms and fecal coliforms). The main objective of this work is to evaluate the quality of water that is distributed to the households and the previous treatment in the purification plant. It is important to clarify that the path that travels the vital liquid to reach its final destination, the consumer, passes through a distribution network where alterations can occur that can contribute to changes in the water quality. To determine the quality of the water, it was compared with guidelines validated worldwide by the WHO and local standards such as the INEN Standard 1108: 2014, in which are found the reference values of each analysis performed. This study is a Cross-sectional probabilistic descriptive type, in which a stratified sampling was made and the applied statistics were descriptive. Using a statistical program called Minitab, a T-student study of each of the parameters of the two sectors was made. There was no statistically significant variation between Señor de Flores and General Vintimilla sectors in the analyzed parameters. The physical-chemical parameters presented in this study determined that the water that is purified by the Water Management Board of the Bayas parish is within the ranges allowed by the norm NTE INEN 1108, which indicates that the beneficiary of this service has suitable water for human consumption. Microbiological analyzes: total coliforms and fecal coliforms, performed to the samples by the most probable number method, satisfy with the current norm in the country; so no growth of these microorganisms was observed during the two months of practice.
