    Calidad de vida del adulto mayor en el Hogar Cristo Rey, Cuenca, 2022-2023

    Background: During the last years, the remarkable population growth of older adults has been seen, many of them do not have a full and optimal aging due to multiple pathologies developed as a consequence of unhealthy behaviors and behaviors throughout their lives, facts that directly affect the quality of life of the elderly. For this reason, this priority group requires more investment in more complex medical care and institutionalizations for specific care, causing high monetary costs for the family and for the State, in order to provide care to the elderly population. that each time becomes even more dependent. General Objective: Determine the Quality of Life of the Older Adults of Hogar Cristo Rey through the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire, Cuenca, 2022-2023. Materials and methods: The study carried out is quantitative, descriptive, applying the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire that evaluates the quality of life of the Elderly person, the results will be quantified through the SPSS program and presented in Excel tables and graphs. Results: The quality of life is quite good, the highest score is reflected in the Environmental domain with 55% and the lowest in the Social with 40%, there are no significant differences in demographic variables such as sex or age, but with the level of instruction (p=0.034). Conclusion: Overall, a fairly good quality of life is perceived within Hogar Cristo Rey. The data obtained will be used for future research.
