    Diseño del anteproyecto arquitectónico de la Unidad Educativa “Santa Isabel” en el cantón de Santa Isabel, Ecuador

    This research presents the design of an architectural preliminary project for a new campus of the “Santa Isabel” Educational Unit, located in the canton of Santa Isabel, Azuay province, Ecuador. The project responds to the urgent need to replace a deteriorated educational infrastructure, aligning with contemporary criteria of sustainability, energy efficiency, and biophilic design. The proposal is based on passive architectural strategies, taking advantage of the climatic, topographic, and environmental conditions of the designated site. Through a multiscalar analysis—national, provincial, cantonal, parish, and plot—the project configures a design sensitive to its context, integrating thermal comfort, universal accessibility, and a harmonious relationship with the natural environment. The methodological approach incorporates current regulations, the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, and architectural design criteria, resulting in a functional, sustainable, and context-aware solution.
