This research work addresses the context of vivander women working in municipal markets, the main objective of the research was to analyze the triple role played by vivander women in the August 10 market of the city of Cuenca in the year 2020, from a gender perspective. The research determined that the triple role played by vivander women is manifested in the execution of domestic tasks, as well as care activities, the sale of their products in the market and community participation that the women carry out both inside and outside the market. On the other hand, the conflicts that women face at the moment of reconciling these roles were identified, which mainly arise due to the lack of co-responsibility of the members of the family group in the execution of the domestic and care tasks, thus producing an overload of work for women. The research also shows the gender inequalities that women face when they enter the labor market in those occupations considered to be part of their femininity, caused by the difficulties they have in accessing job opportunities because it is much easier for men than for women to access decent employment.
