Instauración de los aforos volumétricos y másicos para los procesos de oxidación, coagulación, floculación y cloración en la planta de tratamiento de agua potable de Tixán – Módulo II

Because water is the vital element of life. The need to optimize its quality should be sought. The water purification process benefits the quality of this liquid and the human being that it does not harm their health by consuming it. Therefore, thanks to the appropriate treatments and compliance with the main regulations in force in Ecuador: the INEN 1108 standard, which governs the indicators of the quality of drinking water supplied in our country. The ¨Tixán¨ drinking water treatment plant is a conventional plant, where coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection processes are carried out. In addition, the plant has an additional process called oxidation and aeration pre-treatment, which contributes to the elimination of iron and manganese present in the water Due to the demand for drinking water consumption, the plant had to expand and repower a second module, for this, new chemical dosing equipment was acquired, which are the basis of this project. The quantitative data obtained when operating the equipment was adjusted to a linear regression model that represents the dosage of each chemical used in the water purification process, such as potassium permanganate, aluminum sulfate, and polymer and chlorine gas. The linear models obtained for each team were reliable because their respective R2 is greater than 0.99. Thus, the development of this thesis managed to provide the operators with an easy-to-use computer tool to perform the dosage of said chemicals, being of great benefit when there is a failure in the automatic mode of operation and the development of an operation manual and maintenance for the plant, guaranteeing an efficient purification process, satisfying all quality standards.
