General Objective: To determine the association between patterns of negligent parenting, nutrition and psychomotor development of children aged 0-5 years. Vicente Corral Moscoso. Hospital Cuenca 2013. Method and Materials: an analytical study, case -control design was conducted during 2013, in the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital - Pediatric Service . The sample consisted of 120 children / as, children 0-5 years exhibited a pattern of negligent parenting ( 40 cases ) and those without it (80 controls) were identified. Age, sex, housing conditions , family disease that led to their income and further evaluated and compared the nutritional status and psychomotor development: some demographic factors as identified . Anthropometric variables were used, such as weight and height. To obtain measurement data and a personal interview and application of a test, quiz questions to measure negligence took place. He turned to socio- affective instrument -old Nelson Ortiz to determine psychomotor development. In the statistical analysis and measures of central tendency and percentages were used to determine statistical association Chi square. Results: Statistical significance (p < 0.05) between neglectful parenting patterns and nutritional status was determined, as these were more common among children with adequate nutritional status; well, negligent parenting patterns and psychomotor development (p < 0.05). Negligent breeding patterns exhibited a minimum score of 22 and maximum of 73 with an average of 41.36 ± 9.97. Conclusion: The existences of negligent parenting patterns are associated with the production of nutritional disorders and / or psychomotor development.
