    Valoración del crecimiento de los niños y niñas del inicial al séptimo de básica en el Centro Educativo Comunitario General Rumiñahui Quilloac. Cañar, 2014

    Objective: The present study allowed us to assess the growth of children of the Seventh Basic Early Education Centre Community General Rumiñahui " Quilloac ". Cañar, 2014. Methodology: A descriptive research was conducted cross-sectional and applying a quantitative method. We worked with a finite universe of 151 students of the Seventh Initial Basic. The technique used is the anthropometric measurement and control that allowed us to assess the growth of children / girls, adolescents and as a tool used growth curves of the Ministry of Public Health to plot the weight / age, height / age relationships according sex and Nelson formulas to relate the weight / age, height / age, obtaining the ideal weight, ideal size and by ideal weight, actual weight determine the degree of malnutrition according to Gomez; and body mass index ( BMI) and MUAC was measured to assess nutritional status . Use of Results: This research showed the growth of children / and adolescents by age class and sex, with the result that 151 students 13.2% are preschool aged <5 years, children from 5 to 9 years to 11 months 57.6%, teenagers 10 - 19 years 29.1% and 50.3% according to sex is female and 49.7% male . By plotting the growth curves in the Ministry of Public Health was evident: weight / age 0.7% overweight; relative height / age 11.9% severe stunting . Arm circumference was performed at < 5 years, 5% of them in moderate malnutrition and 95% proper nutrition.
