Los cambios en la vida de las mujeres de Río Blanco, Molleturo Centro y Yumate después de los proyectos de desarrollo

The Molleturo parish has lived a permanent state of social exclusion expressed in high levels of poverty and unsatisfied basic needs of its population. The few sources of work, migration and reduced attention of the public administration have enhanced this condition, with women being one of the most affected segments of the population. For this reason, international cooperation and other public and private organizations promoted different development projects, in order to generate in the population, skills and abilities that improve their living conditions, their conscience and environmental practices. Analyzing critically and from a gender perspective, the interventions implemented, this work seeks to investigate the changes in the lives of women in their gender relations at public, domestic and production levels, after the development projects in the communities of Río Blanco, Molleturo center and Yumate. For this purpose, in addition to the bibliographic and documentary review, the ethnographic method was used, which made it possible, through semi-structured interviews, to recover the experience and perceptions of the women of the communities and of some technicians who executed the projects in the territory. These projects achieved changes in the lives of women at a personal, family and community level, incorporating strategies such as training, involvement in production, income generation and organization, which improved their status in the family and the community. However, the position of women and the power relations between genders were very little modified.
