(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-04-07) Illescas Illescas, Jorge Luis; Montalvo Bernal, José Heriberto
It is a qualitative study through a descriptive exploratory design, the unit of analysis were 5 family groups, each with a male family member, and former patient of the CETAD of Baños, they were applied, prior to informed consent, an instrument organized in two sections; a semi structural interview and the Argentinean Scale of Codependence test. The sociocultural and psychosocial factors identified were; Protection to the addict, Emotions associated to the addict, Type of parenthood, Vulnerability in the family system, Positioning with respect to the addict and Gender roles. The symptoms of codependence in the family system were evaluated through the Argentine Codependence Scale Test, the most outstanding dimension in the family groups being "Low self-confidence", the factor "Focus on the other" remained constant in the 5 families, Finally, in the analysis of the functioning of the codependent family system, the Positioning with respect to the addict, the Type of paternity and maternity and the Vulnerability in the family system widely influence the family system in the context of codependence. Gender Roles constitute a structural factor of little control in the family system, and the Emotions factor is a direct consequence of the interaction of all the factors and dimensions.
