“Gestión sostenible del pavimento rígido y flexible de las principales calles de la cabecera cantonal de Biblián – provincia del Cañar
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-11-09) Idrovo Ortiz, Juan Pablo; Carvallo Corral, Pablo Andrés
Currently, the municipal government of Biblián canton does not have a road infrastructure management system, so the interventions that are developed do not have a planning that considers factors such as execution time or investment in the medium and long term. In view of this problem, this research project aims to determine the current condition of the main roads in this community by determining the PCI to check the evolution of the level of service. In addition, a maintenance proposal is presented that is both technically and economically feasible to be executed by the municipal administration. In order to comply with all the above mentioned, a field data survey of the types of failures present in the main roads of Biblián is carried out according to the evaluation criteria of the ASTM D6433 Standard. Then, the evolution of the level of service of these roads is determined through Markov matrices to check the possible condition of the roads if a timely intervention is not carried out. Among the main results obtained, it can be mentioned that, although the analyzed roads present a good current condition, if an adequate maintenance planning is not carried out, in the next 10 years, more than 50% of the viability in Biblián could fall back to a poor or deficient condition. Likewise, it was verified that the total intervention cost of the proposed maintenance is 1,151.89 for the flexible pavement and 16,400.33 for the rigid pavement.
