    Nivel de conocimiento sobre los factores de riesgo del cáncer de mama en estudiantes del noveno y décimo ciclo de la carrera de medicina de la Universidad de Cuenca en el periodo septiembre 2023 febrero 2024

    Breast cancer is the main neoplasm diagnosed in women worldwide, for the year 2020 the incidence was 2,221,675 cases and with a mortality in women of 606,022, ranking fifth in mortality in both sexes. It is a disordered growth of cells found in the ducts of the breast. The objective was to determine the level of knowledge about the risk factors of breast cancer in students of the ninth and tenth cycle of the medical career at the University of Cuenca, period September 2023 - February 2024. A quantitative descriptive study was carried out. cross section in the Medicine degree at the University of Cuenca. The sample universe was made up of 141 students, the data was collected in a questionnaire designed for the research and approved by a committee of experts. The data obtained were processed in the SPSS v23 statistical package. The results are displayed in simple tables and cross tables. Of the total, 70.9% (n100) corresponded to the ninth cycle and 29.1% (n41) corresponded to the tenth cycle. Regarding gender, 59.6% (n 84) were women and 40.4% (n57) were men. The mean age was 24.4 years old. The average knowledge was 92.9%, which corresponds to a high level. In the study carried out on medical students, it was observed that the level of knowledge of breast cancer is high.
