Item A multidisciplinary analytical framework for studying active mobility patterns(INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR PHOTOGRAMMETRY AND REMOTE SENSING, 2016-07-12) Orellana, D; Hermida Palacios, Carla MarcelaIntermediate cities are urged to change and adapt their mobility systems from a high energy-demanding motorized model to a sustainable low-motorized model. In order to accomplish such a model, city administrations need to better understand active mobility patterns and their links to socio-demographic and cultural aspects of the population. During the last decade, researchers have demonstrated the potential of geo-location technologies and mobile devices to gather massive amounts of data for mobility studies. However, the analysis and interpretation of this data has been carried out by specialized research groups with relatively narrow approaches from different disciplines. Consequently, broader questions remain less explored, mainly those relating to spatial behaviour of individuals and populations with their geographic environment and the motivations and perceptions shaping such behaviour. Understanding sustainable mobility and exploring new research paths require an interdisciplinary approach given the complex nature of mobility systems and their social, economic and environmental impacts. Here, we introduce the elements for a multidisciplinary analytical framework for studying active mobility patterns comprised of three components: A) Methodological, b) Behavioural, and c) Perceptual. We demonstrate the applicability of the framework by analysing mobility patterns of cyclists and pedestrians in an intermediate city integrating a range of techniques, including: GPS tracking, spatial analysis, auto-ethnography, and perceptual mapping. The results demonstrated the existence of non-evident spatial behaviours and how perceptual features affect mobility. This knowledge is useful for developing policies and practices for sustainable mobility planning.Item Análisis de gestión de calidad en los procesos de planificación y construcción de departamentos en edificios de la ciudad de Riobamba, creación de un plan de control de calidad(2017-01-18) Cepeda Godoy, Héctor Manuel; Hermida Palacios, Carla MarcelaThe following detailed below, document corresponds to the thesis research, prior to obtaining the title of Magister in Construction at the University of Cuenca, framed within the research, construction management, in which the research called is immersed "Analysis of quality management in the planning and construction of apartments in buildings in the city of Riobamba, creating a quality control plan." Within the construction sector, apartment buildings have high demand and high demands, especially in Quality Management, which unfortunately in the city of Riobamba is not applied. It is proposed the creation of a quality control plan in the construction of apartments in buildings, from the planning stage to completion of the building; the research paper consists of 5 chapters. First, the project is defined, identifying the problem, defining the situation to intervene. They a rise objectives and assumptions are made with a specific theoretical framework for the development of the thesis. Knowing quality models and tools currently available, the study and influence in the construction is done, knowing the constitution and structure of departments in buildings projects, the organization of the proposal is defined. Finally, the model quality management arises, establishing its structure and content that is the proposal, and subsequently the conclusions and recommendations are made.Item Gestión de residuos en la construcción: plan de gestión de residuos generados en construcciones de vivienda multifamiliar en el Ecuador(2017-11-22) Rea Lozano, Adriana Estefania; Hermida Palacios, Carla MarcelaIn Ecuador and the world, one of the most developed productive sectors is construction, particularly in the case of Ecuador, on average 10% of GDP is spoken between 2013 and 2014, being the period of greatest growth in the sector, consequently contributes to the generation of employment sources, showing itself as one of the pillars of the national economy; however, in turn, the processes of this activity, cause a serious problem, which directly affects the society in general: the generation of waste and its final disposal. Currently there is no control that allows management at each stage of construction. Those involved directly and indirectly do not coordinate actions to solve the problem, there are no regulations or guidelines which hinders the integral management and does not allow to guarantee an adequate and sustainable final disposition. This research is carried out by proposing several cases of studies in which the problem is evidenced, a qualitative and quantitative study had been developed that first identifies the main actors or involved, it differentiates itself, each stage in the construction process and characterizes the residues that are generated. The main objective is the establishment of control lines and in situ management of the waste and its final disposal, all this reflected in a waste management plan that guarantees its final sustainable disposal.Item Intervención urbano-arquitectónica en las márgenes del Río Yanuncay: Una alternativa turística para Cuenca:(2000) Hermida Palacios, Carla Marcela; Montesinos González, Dániaba; Tenesaca Chimbo, Jorge Agustín; Piedra Landívar, CésarItem Modelo de aseguramiento de la calidad en la construcción de la vivienda unifamiliar(Universidad de Cuenca, 2013-11-11) Izquierdo Tacuri, Diego Mauricio; Hermida Palacios, Carla MarcelaThe document presented below corresponds to the thesis to obtain the title of “Magister en Construcciones” at the University of Cuenca. As part of one of the research lines of the Mastery, is the Construction Management. In this important area, the thesis has been named " Modelo de aseguramiento de la Calidad en la Construcción de la Vivienda Unifamiliar" As the housing, building that more is built, the greatest demand and seeks to solve most needs, it has been selected as the main reference for the development of this thesis. The application of the concepts contained within the scope of the evolution of quality, is the beginning of the creation of this proposal. It has done a model for quality assurance in the construction of housing, the same which is made up by 6 chapters. Initially, the project is defined, identifying the problem and defining the situation to act. It sets out the objectives and hypotheses. It defines the theoretical framework that will guide the development of the thesis With the knowledge of the tools and quality models. In this thesis, It will study its influence in the field of construction. Then, with the knowledge of the structure of the housing projects, it will establish the organization of the proposed Finally, the model will define its own structure, making schemes and formats. With the application of model in two case studies, the proposal will finish. At the end of this thesis, it will do the respective conclusions.Item Modos de movilidad de los niños y niñas en edad escolar: exploración de la incidencia de factores socioeconómicos, de percepción y de mesoescala urbana utilizando Random Forest(2021) Ballari, Daniela Elisabet; Hermida Palacios, María Augusta; Orellana Vintimilla, Daniel Augusto; Hermida Palacios, Carla Marcela; Salgado Castillo, FranciscoAnalyzing and understanding the incidence of socioeconomic, perception and urban mesoscale factors on mobility modes of school-age children is essential to motivate a more sustainable mobility. This study explores the relationship between socioeconomic, perception and urban mesoscale factors on the daily mobility modes of school-age boys and girls (6 to 12 years old) in the intermediatesized city of Cuenca (Ecuador, Latin America). Random Forest, as a classifcation machine learning method, was used to classify the mobility modes into walk, bus and car, and to identify factor importance in each mode. The data were obtained from a mobility survey carried out on Cuenca households in 2019. Even if school bus is a usual mobility mode for schoolchildren, it could not be accounted in this study because it was not contained in the original survey. The results showed that the best model for walk and bus mobility modes was with all the factor groups, while for Car, as expected, was the socioeconomic model. Even if the most important factors were cars´ number per family and socioeconomic level, we also found that, in order to encourage walking as the mobility mode, the perception factors are relevant. Similarly, in order to encourage bus mobility mode, the urban mesoscale factors should be accounted for. This study contributes with data and a methodological approach that could infuence public policy regarding scholar-aged active mobility.Item Plan prospectivo para una empresa constructora en la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2016-11-11) Terán de los Reyes, María José; Hermida Palacios, Carla MarcelaMost of thecompaniesfacedifferentkind of problemsduetotheeconomy, thepresence of new competitors in themarket and thelack of strategicplans. The case of Cuenca, Ecuador(2015) Hermida Palacios, María Augusta; Hermida Palacios, Carla Marcela; Cabrera Jara, Natasha Eulalia; Calle Figueroa, Christian EstebanThe theoretical debate about the scattered city versus the compact city, in the worldwide and particularly in Latin America, this put in evidence the necessary key aspects to propose a new city model, where the quality of life in the present and future generations will be the focus point of reflection. Throughout the study of the state of the art about this topic, it concludes that the returning to a compact city model is the alternative for a possible sustainable development in the intermediate cities of Latin America. In the Cuenca case is concentrated in the study of the densities of the city from the 1950s until today. It is amazing to prove that Cuenca was a compact city with a high quality of life, but gradually it is unnecessarily expanding, with all the problems involved.Item La vivienda económica: aproximación desde la arquitectura.
