Item Evolución histórica de los circuitos electrónicos de inducción magnética(Universidad de Cuenca, 2014) Guamán, Jesús; Guevara, David; Ríos, Alberto; Universidad de Cuenca; Dirección de Investigación de la Universidad de Cuenca; DIUCThe electronic devices used in heating systems thanks to the development of power electronics rapidly evolved to magnetic induction. Currently, Ecuador’s government is firmly committed to transform the country’s energy model. This will involve replacement of the classic gas-based heating systems for hot water by magnetic induction devices. The article presents a comparative study of different topologies of electronic circuits used in the induction heating process in the last 20 years. The evolution of electronic circuit’s magnetic induction is due to the technological breakthrough of soft switching devices. The existing topologies and their application in commercial electronic circuits demonstrate the growing interest in magnetic induction systems and the search for continuous improvement and increase in energy efficiency. The paper provides a detailed description of the different topologies used in the induction heating industry, and provides a comparison of the resonance frequencies, the powers of labor and the most relevant designs and dimensioning of electronic circuits for magnetic induction heating. The study pretends to serve as a theoretical basis for the selection and design of prototype domestic water heating systems by electromagnetic induction for domestic use.Item Generación de librerías de código base para autenticación a través de certificados SSL generados automáticamente utilizando Java(Universidad de Cuenca, 2016-11-16) Vargas, Javier; Guevara, David; Mayorga, Franklin; Sánchez, Franklin; Díaz, DanieLThis paper describes the processes involved in the creation and evaluation of a Tool for Automatic Generation of Security Infrastructure in Communications using Java. Incorporation of security services in the source code of distributed applications is not that easy and requires, on the one hand the creation of a manual for the security of infrastructure based on digital certificates of public and private OpenSSL keys, and/or security stores. On the other hand, the application developer must incorporate manually in the source code the functions and/or procedures that proproperly manage certificates, keys and stores, to secure automatic implementation of the security services.Item Plataforma Cloud para monitoreo remoto de sistemas fotovoltaicos aislados en el Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2014) Manzano, Santiago; Peña-Ortiz, Raúl; Guevara, David; Ríos, Alberto; Universidad de Cuenca; Dirección de Investigación de la Universidad de CuencaPhotovoltaic systems are typical renewable energy sources that generate electricity from solar radiation. Monitoring isolated PV systems is necessary to provide information that allows their holders to maintain, operate and control these systems, reducing installations costs and avoiding unwanted electric power disruptions in isolated areas. This paper propose a development of cloud-based platform for monitoring the isolated PV systems in Ecuador with the aim of develop an extreme scalable solution based on open source software, low consumption wireless sensors, and ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) paradigm to process, manage and publish the information for a Ecuadorian solar control center.Item Viabilidad económica del control de la iluminación fotovoltaica en autopistas del Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2014) Vargas, Carlos; Guevara, David; Ríos, Alberto; Universidad de Cuenca; Dirección de Investigación de la Universidad de CuencaA most critical problem of highways is the high energy consumption associated with the lighting systems. The development of innovative control systems and the integration of renewable power generation systems in lighting systems allow for significant energy savings in highways. The Government of Ecuador has launched an ambitious project to build new highways throughout the country. The practical implementation of intelligent control lighting photovoltaic systems involves considerable energy savings and use of renewable and inexhaustible resource in the future highway network of Ecuador. In this paper, the features of so-called intelligent highways and innovative techniques for the control of lighting systems are described. Also, an introductory assessment of the potential impact on reducing the power consumption is presented.
