Item Análisis dinámico lineal mediante un método simplificado y un modelo de elementos finitos de un tanque para contención de hidrocarburos(2015) Guerrero Verdugo, Orlando; Sánchez Cordero, Francisco José; Moscoso Fernández Salvador, Jorge FernandoIt is important to know the effect of the deformations caused by dynamic forces in storage tanks, used for containing liquids or in the case of this study for containinghydrocarbons. As if the structure has flaws, repair costs, as well as terrible environmental impacts will take place. Ecuador has become a major oil producer, being this industry one of the major sources of income, which is why the construction of such structures in the country has increased in recent years. Many countries use or recommend simplified methods for obtaining external forces in tanks due to seismic movements. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the external forces facing variation of the slenderness of a tank during a seismic event. A comparative analysis of the Ecuadorian standard is performed, using international standards such as the Colombian, the Mexicanand the European. In this paper a dynamic elastic analysis is carried out, in which the acceleration spectrum obtained for each standard is used, allocating adequate values to each variable; and with them, identify the similarities with the other standards to locate the structures in the Ecuadorian Coast. The magnitudes of the reactions are calculated using a simplified method and two (two-dimensional and three-dimensional) models, developed in the finite element program SAP2000. They are assessed for 5 tanks with different aspect ratio (H/r), and for each specified international standard; coming to get a similarity between computational and simplified models, and among the studied standards.
