Functional domains are very important in the development of people because they reflect their level of autonomy and ability to function in a given environment, even more so in people with disabilities who need constant supervision from another person. Knowing how important it is for the performance in the environment, we conclude in executing a research study through the "PEDICAT" scale in the Special Educational Unit ADINEA and CEDIN DOWN. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the functional domains in boys and girls of the ADINEA and CEDIN DOWN Special Educational Unit through the ´´PEDICAT´´ Scale. METHODOLOGY This research work was a quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional study that was developed in the Special Education Unit ADINEA and CEDIN DOWN, through the application of the ''PEDICAT'' Scale. For the analysis and tabulation of the data obtained, the IBM SPSS program (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, version 23) was used, which is a set of programs aimed at performing statistical analysis. Microsoft Excel 2016 and Microsoft Word 2016 were used to make the tables and graphs, making statistical tables of frequency and percentages to all the data provided by the research. Children between 0 and 12 years old were evaluated; quantitative data were also analyzed using measures of central tendency: mean, median, and mode. RESULTS The sample was made up of 40 children from the Special Education Units. As a result, 60% of the children in the functional areas were dependent on Daily Activities (24 children), 57% were dependent on Mobility (23 children), 90% were dependent on Social Cognitive (36 children) and 37% were dependent on Responsibility (15 children). The age range with the highest dependence in the functional domains is in the group of 10 to 12 years old.
